It has been like this for days already and i am not sure what happened to my email. It keeps on sending unnecessary links to my contact at least 15 contacts in a day. I am pretty sure its a virus cause all the emails in my sent items are gone too. I dont want it around cause its bothersome and its not normal. Has anyone among you here encountered this problem? How do I get rid of it?

Hi. p3ks626; I have never had this happen to me before. The only thing that I can think that you could do is delete your email account. You can also delete your email contacts too. I have never encountered this problem at all. I think that you may need to set up another email account since you are having all of these viruses.

Yes I encountered this before, and it actually transmitted virus to my contacts because the filename attachments are really deceiving. They use filenames or subject headings like 'take a look at my vacation pictures!'. The best thing to do is to use another email address and send your contacts a message not to open any attachments from the email that has been sending the the links, and inform them that it's not you whose sending them. Your account password most probably was hacked. So either delete the account, or re-set/change your password. Make sure your password is totally different and difficult to figure out.

Are you using web based e-mail (paid) or free service? If you are using free service it's gonna be difficult. The only way is to contact the provider and notice them about your problem. But if you are using paid e-mail (such as what you created after you own a domain or hosting), then you just need to remove the e-mail and install it again. It's also a bit difficult that you have to re-submit all your contacts.
But I assume this is your e-mail attached to e-mail client such as Outlook or Thunderbird. Also try scan your PC with the latest antivirus update.
