Why do you wear eyeglasses?

I wear eyeglasses everyday because I don't have a clear vision. I can't read letters when it's far from me. It's also purpose is to correct my astigmatism. At school or whenever I'm out of the house, I wear contact lens so it's not obvious that I don't have perfect vision. I hate wearing eyeglasses.

I wear specs because I need to. I started working in my early 20's and using the computer damaged my 20/20 vision. That time windows has not yet been developed, only dos is the O/S, so my screen showed only black background and green characters. After a few months of office work, i suddenly noticed that I see blurred image if its is a few meters away from me, so I went to the optometrist and I found out that I need to wear specs....I started from 50/75 and now i have 175 left and right...if i will not wear specs, I would not be able to see clear image from 3 meters and more away from me.

When I watch TV or go out, sometimes I will have to wear my glasses because I am near-sighted. I can't see far away objects if I don't wear my glasses. I love China

i have very dry eyes a condition called sjogren's syndrome. i have to take prescription eye drops twice daily. if i don't, i get severe keratitis which is inflammation of the corneas and conjuctivits which is red, irritated eyes. i have an astigmatism which is football shaped corneas, near and far sighted, and presbyopia. i wear progressive lenses always. i can use them to read, watch tv, computer, see near see far. i don't need any other glasses with the progressive lenses.

Like macdingolinger, I wear mine mostly for seeing. I dont really wear them around the house except for using the PC and I am wearing them less at work now as they were rubbing on the bridge of my nose but, legally, I must wear them for driving.

I have an eye condition that requires glasses. If I do not don my eyewear, my environment is almost a complete blur. I have no ability to read words from afar or recognize facial characteristics or any details around me. Also, not wearing my glasses sometimes causes me to become sleepy or put me straight to sleep.

I have, by the grace of God, normal vision. I still like wearing eyeglasses just to protect my invaluable eyes from being baked by the scorching Sun beams during the summer afternoons.

I wear glasses because I cannot see without them!A few years back I did purchase a set of prescription sunglassess too I have really enjoyed them too! The problem though is that I don't have bifocals on the sun glasses!
