Hi there, these days I only use speakers and have been doing so for the last year or so. Even if i'm out, I know this is tacky but I use my mobile to play through its loudspeaker. Reason being, I have had a constant ringing in my ears for the last 3 or so years. Doctors have told me this is probably due to abusing headphones when I was younger, having the volume up full on the cheap tinny ones, now I regret it. I would say at home you should 100% use speakers, when out keep the volume down :)

If I am at home I typically use speakers. If I am out or anything I use headphones. I have never really had any ear problems from them. I take them off and see how loud it sounds when they arent in my ears to somewhat see how loud it is. This helps me realize if I have them too loud.

I use at the moment always my headset because in my computer isn't a sound cart so i have to use my game headset because in it is a separate sound cart. But also the sound from a headset is much better than the normal speakers above if you have very professional speakers with a nice bass, but i think they are a bit to expensive for me. The only downside of a headset is that i can't hear other people very well, maybe it is a good thing on it for other people:)

I usually use my headset when I am on the phone since I usually talk on the phone for several hours. I have an unlimited plan on my mobile phone so it does not cost me a lot to stay on the phone all day. But when i am alone in my room, I usually use the speaker. Happy mylotting.

I use them alternately. Whenever I'm in my house, I use speakers. I just use speakers when I'm really concentrating on the song. I also use headset when I'm out of the house. I minimize the use of my headset since you're right, it irritates my eardrums even if it's in a minimal volume. This is because the music goes straight to your eardrums with very minimal use of medium for it to travel.
To add, I prefer speakers when I'm sound tripping because having music around me makes me lose myself into it more.

I do agree that speaker seems more comfortable to the ears... anyway, headset is good when you would not want surrounding people to hear what you are listening or when you do not want your music to disturb somebody studying etc. Anyway, long exposure to headset does has its adverse effect and hence it is better to use speakers if you want to listen to music for long hours.

i prefer speaker because head set is too risky to use through hours. i prefer head set only when i used to call someone.

I use speakers when I am at home but i use my headphones when i'm outside or when i want to listen to music at home without hearing anything else. Before i use headsets most of the time because i want to ignore other sounds when i listen to music. But after awhile, my ear started to hear and i felt like i was hearing sounds less because i wore my headsets too much. So now i use both speakers and headsets.

I typically use headset, because its easier for me. Even when I'm watching movies in my computer, I just use my headset. The only times I use my speakers is when I'm alone in the house or my room, or when there is a party.

I really prefer speakers, as long as I don't cause any disturbance to anybody. I'm more comfortable that way coz headphones make me feel queasy, like something is always poking on my ear. But when I'm in a public transportation and need to listen to music or an audio book, I've got not choice but to use headset.

I use both depending on the place where i am. When i am in a alone place then i use my headphones so that i could hear each word carefully.
And i set my phone on speaker when its not easy to hear the song like in noisy places and i also use them when someone else also wants to listen the song

If I'm home alone, I use speakers and if someone else is home, I use speakers with very little volume or just use earphones. Depends if I'm lazy to put earphones on...
