Nowadays men have picked up cooking skills mostly due to women are more independence and having their own career. Women might have busier working life than men so who has more time at home will need to do things like cooking, cleaning, taking care of children, old parents...etc....What is your thought about the role of men have changed ?

Finally men have started realizing that women can earn like them (no offence) and make their own career. To realize one's ambition one cannot stay at home but to pursue the dream somewhere away from kitchen from home. I think this compels the men in general to learn to do these stuffs which they once treat as womens' tasks.

I dont think any ideology hooked to this event...women stepping out of kitchen & men cooking at home...I feel in present time its the need of the hour....adding more bucks in house hold...means more comforts..more happiness...alongwith satisfaction to realise ones dreams... relish to be what women always wanted to be...contributing to social & national prosperity...hatsoff to all the men cooking at home and women taking it in right spirit. It is simply complimenting each other husband & wife, girl & boyfriends, men & women.

My idea is very personal and it may still apply to some society where men and women are not treated equal. I do agree that there is no ideology per se and its the need of the hour. Well said.

actually, most of men are fascinated by the joy of cooking, or try something new for a change of taste, so, they are into cooking and they just rock!!!
Most of the 5-star hotels rely on men for their complete success..!!

Most of the well-known chefs in the world are men. Could it be that men prefer to treat cooking as a profession.

That is the very initial stage for everyone who learn cooking. Like a saying goes :"Practice Makes Perfect"...

Frankly speaking, for me, cooking skills are not for women alone. There's no right 'ownership' for the skills. That go for the cleaning, taking care of children or parents and such. In my house, we are given equal task. Usually I choose cooking because I love it. It's like experimenting things. I don't thing it's a bad idea if the man want to stay at home, taking care of chores while her wife work. There's nothing wrong with that.

I think men and or women must be self sufficient. We live in such a busy world that if a man and or woman does not know how to do things for themselves they would struggle immensely. I see nothing wrong with a man cooking, it actually shows charisma and caring nature.
My boyfriend is so self sufficient that he cooks, cleans, does dishes and his laundry. He has lived alone for so long it is the only way he could have survived.

I think it's good. I like it by myself. I love my boyfriend can cook when I'm busy or I'm sick.
