Word Press.Org: Any help please!

I'm a little curious about blogging. I try to download the zip file of WordPress.org. I stored it in my documents but the problem is I cannot run it in my computer. I followed the steps but it cannot proceed. Anyone knows how to help me? I really appreciate your help. Thank you very much in advance.

Yes as said by chris, you need a server to run the blog database, I do prefer wampserver.
Else try that straight in your web server and follow the instructions.
It works pretty fine

Hi,
I set up a WordPress blog on my computer a few years ago just to see what it was like.
As far as I can remember, you need to download and install a web server on your PC for WordPress to work, as it is written in PHP (I think).
I used a server called WAMP Server, which is free.
