Did you get a lot of good Halloween candy in your childhood?

I, as I am sure many others have, have undergone the practice of dressing up and going door to door to trick or treat. Some of the candy was great, while some of it would not be to our liking. However, I think that most years, I got a pretty good hall. November was pretty much candy month. Did you have a neighborhood where you could get yourself a good haul? Or was it a disappointment?

I think I did ok. Though I want to say I probably did more walking than my kids as I think there are more homes participating here than there were where I lived as a kid. I guess you can say now that I have 3 kids we have a very nice haul to sift thru ;0)

Its the opposite around here. Then again, there are less children, so it is a ghost town pretty much on Halloween. Just the odd trick or treat seeker, really not all that much. I guess it really depends on where you live. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Our block is pretty much a ghost town of kids & houses participating. So we usually hit the neighborhoods closer to the school. A few houses really get into the spirit with alot of decorations. A few yards totally turn into grave yards, lit up the works!
Your welcome & TY for the kind response ;0)

I greatly enjoyed Halloween as a kid. It was fun because a large group of my friends and I (there was about 8 or 9 of us) would always go trick or treating together. We always knew where to go to get the good stuff too. There was the neighborhood up on the hill and the elderly people there always gave out the best candy. Also, there were a few houses that required you to perform some kind of trick to get the treat. Those were always fun to participate in. I remember this house where we had to dig into this mini pool of spaghetti to get our bag of treats.

That sounds rather interesting and amusing. Most of the people that I went to were pretty straight forward, although you had some odd little things to make things interesting every now and again around here. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I had many great Halloweens when I was a kid.
My friends and I used to plan out our trick-or-treat routes to go to rich people's houses (because everyone knows they give out the biggest and best candy, lol!) and take extra-large candy bags to hold it all.

Well I would hope rich people would give out some great candy. They do have money to spare. Didn't really have rich people around here. I was in a middle class area but still got some decent stuff all things considered. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
