Is good karma gained when you're seeking it?

I'm sure everyone knows how karma works, but I was just wondering. But does karma work when you're doing something just to gain good karma? Is intent of benefiting from a good act destroy the good gained from an act? Or is an act good regardless of intention? What are your thoughts on the idea? And if you don't believe in karma the idea still remains the same, is an act good regardless of outside factors or is it tarnished if you are seeking benefits from the action?

I think, but these are only my thoughts, that if you do good things while thinking bad things about those who you are doing them for, it probably doesn't count as high as if you did the same good things hoping for good karma.
I'm sure doing good things just because its the RIGHT thing to do counts higher, but doing them in hopes for good karma can't be as ill as doing them because you HAVE to for whatever reason (judge ordered or whatever.)

i think karma is crapy but if your a jeark to people they will be to you and if you are nice to everyone people will be to you. it works for me i'm nice to everyone and for the most part everyone is to me to.

One will gain good karma if one does good deeds, and the other too. I believe there is always reaction to an action. In any case, it is good to be good to all fellow-human beings and creatures in the world.

I do not really understand and believe in what is called karma. But I believe all these works will be no return, or indeed the meaning of karma? every good or bad deeds would be in the starting by intention. And if everyone did good and he expects a good response too, I think it is something natural. And I really appreciate everyone who is doing good, whatever the intention contained therein.
