Movie Trailers

What is up with movie trailers lately? They tell you the entire plot of the movie! What is the incentive to go see it?
For instance, I saw the first preview for MegaMind in a theater. It looked funny, so I was excited to go see it later on. Fast forward a few months, I've seen several preview for the movie and now any plot twist is absolutely ruined for me! I know EXACTLY what the movie is going to be about, down to the end credits (almost!).
Why do they do that?

Im not sure why they would do that. I like the trailers for the movies like Inception and Shutter Island. You would never see any of the twists coming just because of the preview. I think that movies should just have previews that say what the main theme of the movie is, not about the twists.

Thanks for reminding me! I have to get that book at the library. I don't want to see the movie, it looks too violent for me, but I would love to read the book!

No idea why they do those trailers like that. I find it really annoying as well. Especially in the comedy movies they show you the best parts in the trailers and then when you see the movie it's not as funny as antcipated because you knew all the funny parts.
