Some of them are, because they tend to read everything on screen which can cause that problem. But after the CRT monitors are replaced by LCDs, that number, I believe, will slowly decreased. I am a blind person so I do not suffer that thing, because I do not see the screen, but hear the information read by my screen reader.

Hi Ramaditya" I seldom see people with sight disabilities online. I am curious how do you type the messages here. By keyboard or by speech to text software? If you have the latter, please tell me. It would work fine for my transcription works. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I don't think myopia is directly related to computers. The main cause is vitamin A deficiency. There are hereditary cause as well. Sometimes your parents have myopia and you inherit the disease among other things. It has something to do with the shape of eyeball. Abnormal size leads to myopia, hypermetropia and all its likes. Staring at computer screen for too long may, however increase the blood pressure in the veins of your eyeballs. This is why sometimes your eyes become red and swollen. Thanks. God bless you.

Hi there: I have been on computers for almost seven years now, six hours a day more or less. Believe me, I can still hit that four-inch target at 50 meters with or without scopes with a .22 rifle. And I am 47 years old last March 22. I've observed lately, though, that instead of having that common headache, it is my eyes that go bang as if they're being pulled out of their sockets. I don't know why. Two 500mg of ASA tablets would always alleviate the pain, as usual. Other than that, I still enjoy my favorite books with font size 9 without correction lenses and can still roam the dark seas at night with my buddies tracking down and apprehending illegal fishers and smugglers in our place. My favorite sport is still rifle shooting. When I run out of live ammo and has some extra time, I do my shooting on "Black Hawk Down" or on "Ghost Recon" for hours on end. You see, I have was almost blinded when I graduated from college due to intensive reading and overexposure to sunlight. Ever since I invested on a pair of sunglasses ("glass" and not plastic or polycarbonate material) circa 1992, there has been a marked improvement on my eyesight. The sunglasses are still with me now and with Vitamin A, they work wonders for my eyes.

Hey there. I have been myopic since I was 9 years old and it wasn't because of using the computer too much. I am into reading novels under a dim light or with the moon light. I believe that many computer users who frequently use the computers are myopic because of its straining effects on the eyes. It does not apply to all though. I know a lot of guys who use the computer a lot but they are not myopic.
