How do you think about students use computer?

Having computers/laptops was a luxary few years back however now a days its not only comfort but is going to be necessity. In fact this question is not relevant in todays scenario. Using computers is like using other study aids now a days and if you are not using then everybody considers you illiterate. Within few years we are going to see a world may it be your kitchen, your office, your workplace .....etc completely dependent on computers. Its different matter excess/misuse of everything is bad.

Hi xtmlove, yes computers are very useful to the students. Through the net i will download some of the notes which we don't have in our books. Information about my college, updates about exams and notification etc., I too play games sometimes whenever i get bore. Since i am music lover i download music from the youtube. Not only that, i will be interacting with my friends or relatives through chatting online. I will use for doing online jobs too. I feel good things should be used for good.

It’s good that they’re practicing because in the real world, everybody’s using technology and it’s an advantage if you have the knowledge on how to use it especially computers. When you apply for a job, it’s a plus if you have something like Computer Literate written under your Skills.

I think computer is a nee of students. Because now the day of computer. So there are many technology who are not fulfilling without help of a computer. So I think it is good to use computer by students. I think its need of them. And if they perfect in computer then in future their will be mostly opportunities for them. So always encourages students to use it.

I think their used computer for just playing a game it was not good, but if used for learning its can be useful for them.

There's nothing wrong with students' using computer. The key is students need some self-control ability to regulate their use of computer. Many students, as you mentioned, are too addicted with computer games that they neglect studies. In such cases, computers are not facilitating students' learning, but to influence them in many ways. Of course, if students could make use of computer rationally, computers will be of a great help to them.

Nowadays, students cannot without a computer. There are many leanring materials avaible on the Internet which need to be accessed using a computer. Many homework should be done in computer, etc. But, as you have mentioned, some students just use them to play games and wates their time using such useless things and leave their study abandoned. That is pretty bad. Every coin has two side. It's students themselves who decide whether the use the advantages or disadvantages of the computer.

I think it is a good idea for students to use a computer. it is a great educational tool. Students can have so many advantages to their schoolwork with the use of a computer.

For me advantage they are high tech one but disadvantage is more bad to worse.

As some have already said students shouldn't use computers for everything. I think that the school students shouldn't have their own computers expect for those who have computer science as a subject and perhaps they should only have access to computers at school. It's true that children do not know how to spell and do mathematics these day because they are assisted with computers and other electronic gadgets in so many ways and that is not always a good thing. How can you run a mile when you haven't yet learned to walk? How do you do research with only the internet? It doesn't have all the answers and some are even wrong. In my opinion it has a negative effect on social life, no face to face socializing and opens up doors to worlds young children should even be aware of. Hey but that's my opinion anyway.

many students want to learn more knowledge from the computer before they have it.they think much about that.they can do homework with the computer,gain some more information that can not be acquired from the books.but they may be addicted to the games or something bad when they have the computer.from this,the compuer does little help to the shudents but a bad influence on their study.so the parents should guide their children in the use of computeer.

for student are always using computer just like me I'm a college student i love using computer like playing games,using computer can affect your studies that why i suggesting you not to use to much computer.

I mas born in the late 80,I have access to computers relatively late.If time could turn the clock back i would want to learn to use computers earlier. I think learn to use computer is s good thing,A wise chinese saying goes,education is ought to start from kids.

Computers assist in learning as long as they are not used for the wrong things

I think parents should guide and limit the computer hours of their children while they are still in elementary and high school. College students obviously needs computers and internet more than younger students do. Another suggestion to parents there are some technology that blocks unnecessary sites for their own peace of mind. Parents may guide their college level children while using the computer and internet because they are parents. Parents only wants the good for their children.

I remember back in my early high school life we were to go to the library and do research, but nowadays, the students just go online, copy/paste and edit. The good: easier... The bad: Students tend to be lazier. But then again, not all homeworks are important so it saves up a lot.
