How many calendars/planners do you use?

I'll be the first to admit, I love having planners! I love this time of year because it means I can buy new ones for next year! LOL (OK, I'm a tad OCD!)
So, how many planners do you use to keep your family organized? How many people do you have to organize? Adults and children? Are you the only organizer in the house? Do you keep track of all school schedules, appointments, practices, weekend activities? Will family check your planner or do you have to remind them of upcoming events?
OR - do you fly by the seat of your pants??
I have THREE calendars... One in my office, one on the kitchen counter, and one in my purse... I maintain all three of them - every week.
I only have the 3 of us, me, DH and DS, to keep organized. But I write everything down - his school schedule, my volunteer schedule, where DH will be on any given day, doctor's appt, when the truck needs service, weekend fairs/activities, what day I go shopping, etc. You name it, if it needs to be done, it's in my book!
And even though the kitchen planner is there for all to see, I STILL have to remind DH of upcoming appts!

Hello raven7317! I have only one calendar arround the house, from the church, and my parents put me to buy it :D The important days (birthdays of friends) are marked on my cellphone and the ring every time the time is near so i will not forget to buy a present. I do not like to plan, i go with the flow..even if the flow is not that high (nothing unexpected happens, and usually when i have to do something important i allways have enough time, so that i do not need to plan)

Hi there, and thank you for the response. I DO like to go with the flow, but that doesn't alwasy mean not being organized... For example, I maintain an entertainment list - it lists local events like fairs, festivals, events that may be of interest to us. So any Saturday, we can get up, have breakfast and then if we WANT to do something, I can just refer to my list and say, "Hey, there's a XX this weekend" and then we can go... We don't have to waste valuable family time researching what/where to go - because i've already done it in my free time.

I only use the one in my cellphone but not as frequently as I used to. That's mainly the reason I keep forgetting to do a bunch of stuff. I don't like planning and organizing very much, I'm a more spontaneous and last minute person.

Hello, thank you for the response! You know, DH bought me a little electronic organizer years ago... He used to make fun of my lists and planners... But I could never get the hang of the gadgets! I still prefer my old fashioned planner... If were to fly by the seat of my pants more, NOTHING would get done! LOL But each to their own...

For 2010 I have a day by day desk calendar which has islands photos on it. There is a new photo for every single day of the year. I also have a tropical islands wall calendar. I have already ordered a 2011 day by day desk calendar. I have purchased a 2011 planner diary which will be useful. My disabled son has so many appointments so I have to keep track of them all. My children are learning about how to be organized. My older son has a diary. My younger kids are not ready write yet.

We personally have one in our room and one in the computer room, I have one in my purse. Other then to just mark out the days, the calendars don't get used. We write down things we think we're going to forget, and we write down birthday's, but that is about it.
My husband and I don't have children yet, so we don't have any school functions or appt's to remember yet. It's just doctor's appt's, interviews, etc that we worry about rememebring.

Hi Cowgirl, thank you for the response... You know, before I had my son, I had a fabulous memory... I could remember any/everything that was important to our lives... But then I had him! LOL
I took to buying those little memo pads, too, and they are placed everywhere... Everytime DH mentions "I need..." "don't forget..." or "when you get time..."
I know I have a little pad to jot a note to self!
My friends and family tease me alot because they know - if it's not in 'THE BOOK' it's not in my BRAIN!

I actually don't have a traditional planner in the sense of it. But, I also don't fly by the seat of my pants. I am a member of a couple different meetup groups on meetup and those have calendars on there where I can see at a glance if I have something planned for the day. That said, at the beginning of every month I also create a digital calendar that I will use for my computer's desktop so that I am constantly able to see what we have planned for the month. That is definitely something that works well for me.
