After dominating the test matches for nearly a decade Australians are finding themselves on the backfoot...one would bet on them to win such crunch matches and dominate the oppositions like they usually did in the past...they would win the matches on their sheer ability in such situations...i would myself would bet on Australians winning after the Indians were almost down and burried but what do we see Australia loosing from almost a winning situation...how often have we seen them in such a situation...have they lost it...has thier luck deserted the team...with loss of some world class palyers they are a bit on the backfoot but you would still trust them to win...what about your opinion??

I think it is apparent that the Aussies are going through a phase of re-building. Unfortunately, Ponting is not a great captain in the mould of Taylor to really build a side. So he is really struggling. When they lost to Pakistan in England it was clear sign that this team is really not good enough for consistent performance. At this time Aussies need a captain who can nurture youngsters. Ponting is good at extracting performances from superstars, but when it comes to nurturing youngsters he simply is not the real deal!!
Cheers!
