Are you willing to help people? They can be your friends, your relatives or even persons you have never known.
People volunteer to donate blood. But many are not ready. Blood is extremely important to help someone who is ill or injured. Many hospital is in the state of blood shortage.
What do think about this?

I used to donate blood, mainly because I have a somewhat rare bloodtype also, but the problem turned out to be that my blood percentage is to low as it is allready, so they recommended me not to continue.

Lucky there is no paying for blood in Denmark in the sense of if I need surgery on the hospital, all my health insurance costs are paid through my taxes, so the government pays for any medical treatment.... (Not plastic surgeries because you wanna get pretty ofcause) but health care which you need to survive and have a decent life. (eg broken arm, cancer, liver transplantation and so forth)

Hi!
In my country, when someone donates blood, he or she will receives a travel fee support, a little snack, a certificate of donating blood... With the certificate, when you need blood, you will be refunded the amount of blood you have donated free.

Wish you a good health!
You are very kind. We must have a good health and then our blood is really good for blood donation. There are many conditions that donor of blood must satisfy. If we can't donate blood, we can help in many other ways.

Hi BichDiep,Its very True by donating blood one expect/or assume he/she had done a great job and in fact it is so,but again where there is rampant corruption its does not totally satisfy even after donating the blood camp that do occur on every three months arrange by the local political support.
I am afraid the True purpose is at all served or not, but one thing is for certain those who donate blood is doing good not only for the society it even serve good for him/her self as well.
Happy mylotting.

I know someone in a very bad accident who needed blood and their was a big campaign to get enough donors. It was at this time I find out that my blood would never be accepted as I ma ro- gram negative and for some reason we are not allowed to donate.
But I would encourage any one to do so if they can as saving a life is what is important. However there are people oppose to it and I really do not understand why.

I have never donated blood. I'm not a fan of needles at all. Though I've thought if I had the cash and could afford to store my own blood in case of emergency I would.

Yes, someone whose health is not eligible to donate blood. But a lot of people are afford to donate blood but they didn't. Perhaps they fear pain or they think blood donation is harmful to their health.

I've been in those circumstances where people would be needing blood. They were a friend's relative, a teacher, and sometimes strangers -since our university (being a medical uni) has like an annual thing where the y let people donate blood voluntarily.
Unfortunately, donating blood has its requirements, I may pass if there's no specific blood type needed and considering that I'm healthy too. However, it's not just that. My friends and I would joke that if blood is taken from our bodies there'd be nothing left of us. LOL. With regards to our weight or MY weight, I'm not that suitable to donate blood so I just circulate the message if there's such a request.

If only i could i would but i am anemic so i will not pass the screening to donate blood. I think donating blood is a sacrifice so i truly admire people donating their blood, it could benefit a lot of sick people specially cancer patients.
