Is there a standard uniform for cheerleaders?

I just had to ask this question because I was reading this article on Yahoo and it was about these cheerleaders in a high school in Connecticut protesting against their school board because they thought their uniform was too skimpy. I was quite intrigued by the story because usually it's the other way around. I saw a picture of their uniform and it was a bit revealing so I can see why those girls didn't like it (showed off too much of their midriff). And I have to give these girls some props for protesting these outfits.

I'm not sure. In my school, our cheerleaders wear leggings. Quite conservative but still can move freely...
I haven't read that article yet, where can I find it?

I believe all high schoolers have a standard type of uniform but the schools customize their own colors, logo because they're all supposed to look alike supposedly.

Girls wear skirts and short or long-sleeved shirts depending on how the school makes them, and guys wear shirts and pants to cover their legs. That's how it always has been. Schools have dress codes for shorts and dresses like it can't go above a certain level.
If the outfits they made for the cheerleaders were too revealing and it violated their dress code, I can't see why the school won't fix it if they made complaints about them.

I think it all depends on the schools dress code. I am suprised at this too!
