I guess the only movie that I can think of recently that disturbed me was Snakes on a Plane....I started watching it, but got too scared and turned it off. I feel this is terrible for a 43 year old woman to be afraid to watch a movie, but there it it.

American history x also bothered me. It was the scene when norton made the black dude bite the gutter. I thought he was gonna shoot him but instead he kicked him on the back of the head. That made my skin crawl.

I really enjoy some quite horrible, nasty, gory, violent horror films.
but if you watch them, you'll probably have noticed that they're always a bit tongue in cheek.
Wolf Creek however, left me feeling really sort of soiled. it was horrible. the violence in that one is so sort of cold and casual, that it made me feel really bad.

Has to be "The Entity" and the first time we witness the brutal attack of the unseen spirit on Carla Moran, it's shocking and disturbing because it's so real as she is thrown across the room and onto her bed. In fact any of the attack scenes in "The Entity" are just disturbing.

A movie that really touched me the most is Avatar. not really disturbed by it but it made me really cry. When the human beings attacked and ruined the highest tree in the avatar's planet. as the tree fall down, hundreds of of those beings are escaping that tragic act of the greedy humans. It really made me cry because I know the feeling of something special would be taken away from you. Especially your home where you live.
A disturbing movie for me is Hostel part one and two. The part that people kill all other people is really disturbing. and the kind of killing they are doing is really horrible.

I haven't seen 'American History X' so I can't join in there :( But for the movie that disturbed me the most, I will have to go with 'Boys Don't Cry'. I didn't know what I was getting into when I first started watching it. I thought it was just a drama. I didn't realize it was a DRAMA. And revolving around hate crimes, no less (which always makes me cry because of the cruelty). And then I found out it was a true story so I just lost it after that. I must have cried for hours.
