How can a person on government benefits get a home loan?

In Australia how can a person on Centrelink get a home loan to buy their first house?

Sorry Claire, but I'm afraid it's highly unlikely any bank will approve you for a home loan while you are on Centrelink payments. Before looking at your first home, I would seriously look at finding a stable job first. From there, buying your first home will start to become more realistic.

I thought so, I need to wait until my kids are older before I can get a job because I refuse to pay someone else to look after them when I can do that myself.
