I got a problem with my keyboard and mouse. When I insert my pendrive into the USB port my mouse and keyboard does not function. Does anyone know the solution for my computer problem?

Is your mouse and keyboard a USB type? You may try to restart you computer. Or you can try restore system.

Then when you disconnect it they work fine? Perhaps the pendrive is grounded or something. I think it's best that you don't use that anymore. Have you tried using it with another computer which doesn't use a USB mouse and keyboard? If it works fine there, then perhaps you need to try to see if there's a virus of some sort or something. I haven't come across such a problem even though I have been using all USB devices at once.

The pendrive works properly when I use it on other computers. I'm facing the problem only on my office computer. I do not know if it is a hardware or virus problem. Anyways thanks for trying to help.

I think you may try to disconnect the keyboard and mouse from the port again try to connect then your problem can be solved. And sometimes due to virus attacks sometimes this problem can be happen. So try to scan your PC and remove the virus. I think your problem may be solved soon.

I haven't experience this exact problem before but my colleague had something bit similar to this. His usb external drive doesn't function in his PC but it does on other PCs. After some research, we've learned that the problem was a power supply issue. If his usb ports are not fully occupied, his usb drive works otherwise it doesn't. So the solution that we came up was to free some of his usb ports while using his usb drive. Another effective way is to insert the usb drive at the back panel rather than the front panel. We can't hardly explain how it works but it seems that the back panel usb ports are able to generate more power compared to the front panel. This was other way around compared to your problem but you might want to try it. Insert your pendrive at the back panel instead. If it still don't work, try moving your mouse and keyboard to your front panel and the pendrive at your back panel. Good luck and hope this helps to your problem. -)

I have been facing the same problem for few days.I asked on lots of forums over internet but i didnt get the satisfactory answer.I had Usb mouse and whenever i used to connect my pen drive or any other usb device then my mouse used to get stuck.I used to try reconnecting my mouse and then it used to work temporarily.I have not got the proper solution yet but i understood one thing that USB mouse and USB keyboard gives a problem. So i just replaced my mouse and now i am using ps2 mouse and ps2 keyboard.I recommend you to replace your mouse and keyboard so you wont get any type of problem again.
