I heard from somebody that mylot people cut some points if they find a spelling mistake in our discussions....is it true?
I think, if it is true also, it would be better if they neglect small spelling mistakes and deduct some points only if there are major spelling mistakes...what do you say here...anyone here know's about this?

I doubt it's true, especially since they don't have spell check and because there are people from all over the world trying to speak English. If it isn't their native tongue, it wouldn't be fair to punish them.

Yes...i also feel like that...but since i also heard from somebody, thought of putting this in discussion...so that, perhaps if some one know's about this, it will help all of us in long run...sometimes, if there are more sopelling mistakes and all, it might be very difficult to understand that question itself...don't you think?

I don't believe that this is true. A lot of the people that post here do not speak english as their first language. It would not be gair to those people to deduct from them as this site might be helping them learn.

i dont think so...it's not really stated in the guidelines...i think they will deduct points only when it's a oneliner respond or it's copied from others'...i think they are not that strict on spell check :D

Yes...it is not stated in guidelines and i feel mylot will come out with an alert if at all they decide something on those lines..isn't it? however it will be nice if they don't cut any points for simple mistakes....according to th new guidelines layed by the, as you said they do deduct points if it is a single line resonse or copied from others...
Anyway's, thanks for responding

No....i was just clearing out my doubts which was created by some body....but now, it seems that in mylot guidelines, they have made some points saying that no one should critisize people for their spelling mistakes as people come from all sides of the world...anyway's. according to me also, simple spelling mistakes and all can be let of.....

cant see it happening since in the guidelines they tell people not to post discussions that criticize peoples spelling mistakes or grammer because we have people using the site who are from everywhere in the world and may not be able to use english that well yet, so rest assured if theyve put this in the guidelines then they are not going to start going around doing it

Yes...definitely you made some valid points...even i went ythrough their guidelines....but , in some cases when some people make too many gramatical mistakes, it's very difficult to understand their question or discussion......don't you also think so....

I really don't know about them doing that, but I wish they would definitely penalize the people who are not really responding with anything constructive. I had a couple of folks say things that made it clear they were not native English speakers, nor did they know what they were even saying to me. They have a huge feedback. So I'd like to know why the two of them, who said virtually the same thing but both with improper grammatical structure and nonsense responses, survive this site without getting booted while there is talk about docking folks with a misspelled word.

he...you are making some valid points here...thank you for your comments....first of all, mylot has it's own rules and regulations which everybody has to follow and i also never knew anything of this sort of losing points for spelling mistakes........it is still not clear...i am just clearing the doubts which was created by somebody....by putting up this discussion in mylot...it seems that nobody is sure about this and everybody here are giving their views....as in my case.....simple spelling mistakes are ok...but some people make too many gramatical mistakes and we will really have a hard time in understanding that...anyway's thanks for your comments..let us just wait and see if somebody comes out with real positive answer.....
