Are you a Shopaholic?

Shopping is a great way to unwind - Many people can't control their desire to buy something whenever they are in a shop!

Some people are addicted to shopping. They have an uncontrollable urge to shop at any time when they are passing a store too. I,for example, consider myself a shopaholic as I buy things throughout the year and pick up whatever nice product or dress catches my eye even if there is no special occasion or event. Also shopping at random helps me to unwind. Are you a shopaholic or do you shop only when you require to buy something new?

I am a shopaholic. Totally guilty of that. Worse, so is my mom and we often shop together. The shopping trip that supposed to end with a few items will be end with a trolley full of item - whether we really need all the stuff or not. Words like 'promotions', 'buy this get this' and such are plague. It's a bad habit of course. Lately I've been practicing 'revising' before paying. I'll go through the items and try to consider whether we really need them or not. Although I only managed to get rid of a few items off the trolley, it's better than nothing.

I can't consider myself a shopaholic, I am more like an impulse buyer. Simply because I only shop when I think it is needed, but when I do, I tend to get everything that is on sale (even though they are not really needed). I also easily give in to my vanity (ballpens). I collect ballpens and everytime I went in a store, I never leave without buying a new ballpen. I guess collecting ballpens has become my addiction than a hobby.

I admit I am a shopaholic. Though I don't go shopping often but once I end up in a shopping mall I'll not leave until I hear the shops' shutters closing. My recent trip overseas has seen my bank account turning red.

I LOVE to shop! When my daughter was little I would take her with me and we would go shopping about 3 times a week. Then once my son was born it got hard so I only went about once a week or less. Most of my time is spent getting groceries now whereas befoe it was mostly shopping at malls etc. I do not buy things I dont need. I love sales but I do not buy something if its not something that I will use. I also buy things to resell if I find them for very low cost and know I can make a profit off them.

As a straight caucasian American male, I'll totally admit that I love shopping. It can definitely be a blast just to go out with friends and either just look at stuff, buy stupid little things, or even to have them help you get something not so minor. I've also found that heading to the mall or a big store on my own can also just be very relaxing and just helps me think.

I am a shopaholic as well for technology. But with limited money, i try to stop my addiction and save the money until the prices go down for what i want. After saving enough money, i would start spending all of it when all the prices go down so at least i save money and bought a lot of new stuff.

Hi oindy, After a long time you posted anything. Good one... I was a real shopaholic when days were better. I had a passion to collect shirts, pens and even articles that I would rarely use. But I could not resist the temptation of getting into a shop and buying the goodies for me or for anyone. I had a great collection of shirts (about 150 at one time) and pens (about 275) that I hed bought. But now, after I have been hit with the illness and after I am married, I have realized that such expenses are too high and I cannot afford at the moment. Though I am now a days restricted to my house, whenever I have a chance, I get to the shop with my wife and let go the passion of buying... though my wife doesnt mind this as now this is once a while (around once or twice a year). Thanks to her for all the support she has been giving me silently all throughout. theSids.

I'm not a shopaholic and I'm always make a list of necessary things to buy when I go to shop or super market. I always hate running out of money when I really need something like food. But my younger sister is, it is the same for her best friends. They will have a hard time closing their eyes when they are in a shopping mall. They can't stop their itchy hand and won't stop scratching until they actually get what they fancied but don't need :D I wonder if they will ever stop but I hope so, as long as they put a saving for a rainy day then I'm fine with that.

I am not an impulsive buyer. I buy what I need and not what I want. This is to budget my money so that I can make ends meet.

hi oindy, you can consider me as absolutely-not-a-shopaholic person. maybe because I'm a guy and couldn't stand watching clothes or even accompany someone to shop. My cousins also don't like shopping. I think the blood do runs through families. When it comes to food, I always get the step ahead. heehehe

hi oindy. you could say that i'm absloutely-not-a-shopaholic person. maybe it's because i'm still not capable of earning money myself and I think I never buy a thing until I really need it. My cousins don't like shopping too much as well. I think the blood do runs to families It's different when it comes to food. hehehe. I always get in the first line for that.

Actually,I'm not that into shoping.Personally,I couldn't find or buy what I want to get when I go to the mall for a shopping goal, alyhough I have planed well.Another case is that shopping at random and bought a item which I feel like at that time, but It is seldom used afterward.I am a student now,so everytime after spending much money ,I alwways regret for what I have done.I sometimes even hate doing a shopping for a special event, because I often can't get a balance between the item and my wallet.

No, I'm not. I like shopping, but usually I don't have that much money to buy things that I want. So, I can control myself, less shopping, less wasting. Sometimes window shopping is also a happy thing for me, only if I have the leisure time. So, much often I only shop when I want to buy something or I want to go out for a pleasure.

every time I go to the supermarket, I just go there to buy only one thing, but we I come out, there are always many other things in my shopping bag, I try to remove some unnecessary items before paying, but it seems everything is needed, then my money go out of my purse!

I'm not a shopaholic but I'm in impulsive buyer. I'm still trying very hard to control my spending and I've been moderately successful so far. But I still can't resist buying books or shoes or even art supplies. :(
