You Missed Me!

Do you feel hurt, or even offended, when your response to a discussion is the only response which the person who started the discussion did not comment to? Do you think why he missed replying to your response? I feel kinda hurt when that happens to me, because when I start a discussion, I reply to all who have responded to it, even those whose answers I didn't like, or even those who are antagonistic. How 'bout you?

oh wow! this is the first time that i heard of this. no, i don't get offended. that is their prerogative. and i don't think that the discussion starter should really answer to everybody, especially if his or her discussion has raked in like hundreds of responses. lol that would be too time consuming. take care!

I guess you're right. But, out of the hundred only me did not get an answer? Well, not a hundred actually, just a few. Anyway, yes, I'll try not to be so sensitive about it. Oh, wait, if I get a hundred responses to a discussion I started, I would answer all of them! Do the math! If I do, I might make the minimum payment for the month! Thanks for the response!

I do feel the same ...the way you do... But it's ok..at least I have my name on their list...meaning I am responding to their discussion...very much well when they respond to mine ...

Right. I guess we shouldn't be as sensitive to it. At least, by posting on their discussion, we've earned our 1-2 cents. Maybe I'll get over this in time. Thanks for the response!

No I don't feel hurt by it. Plenty of people do it - I don't think it's always 100% necessary to comment on a discussion you started (I know that other people disagree with my opinion, but hey, that's why they call it an "opinion"). It's also really, very time-consuming. I try to respond to ones that catch my eye, or people who are asking questions back or really trying to get the discussion going - but a lot of responses just don't fit that criteria.

I guess you're right. No one can tell who you can or cannot respond to. It's just that I feel kind of snubbed when that happens, especially when I'm the only one who was not responded to. Anyway, I'll have to think about what you said the next time I don't get a reply to my response.

I too respond to each and every comment whether it is positive, negative, liked or disliked as I feel it is common courtesy to respond back. I mean when we speak to people out in the real world we do not just say one phrase then stare into space as if no one existed, so this is how I look at discussions on here. Now when I make a comment to a started discussion if the member does not respond back, I do not feel bad as this is that persons loss as perhaps I applied some helpful information and whether or not the member reads and responds back, I figure I did my best and earned from it too and well not responding back does not make an earning for them, I suppose.

I guess I should start not feeling bad about it. And, yes, I did my best and earned from it. Silly me. Well, at least, hearing that point of view from other members, I won't feel as bad the next time someone snubs my post. Thanks for the response!
