Should stores be held responisble for violence due to Playstation 3

I'm sure most of you are aware by now that playstation 3 has hit the market. After reading about the violence some people have endure to get their hands on these games, do you believe the stores should have had adquate security due to the large crowds? Do you think sony should be held responsible for creating such a frenzy? Finally, is a $600 game really worth being killed or maimed over and what example are these ADULTS sending to our children?
