Punishment for Crime

India

I have been disturbed a lot lately, reading the news and changed laws... A person raped a girl and strangled her to death in 1996, the case was solved in 2006 and the judgement was passed for death sentence but the convict appealed to Supreme court and they changed it to Life imprisonment and now the guy is out on bail. I feel disgusted reading about such news everyday....most of the cases of murder, raping end up in 3 to 10yrs imprisonment and the accused is usually out on bail the next day and lives normal life just like everyone else... Do you feel the same way sometimes?

I think the punishment should be a lesson to the people, They should not take a complete decade to solve a case first, and the stick to their judgement, and eye for an eye , a tooth for a tooth and a life for a life, there should not be any leniency in the judgement towards accused.
