Have you ever gone to one of those all you can eat buffets and see how much food some people actually steal?[em]shocked[/em
Why ?..I imagine it could be them must trying to get something for nothing and maybe they are short on groceries at home whatever the reason its not right.
I have seen some of them actually get caught and I have witnessed parents send their kids to the bar to bring back food and put it in their purses or bags.
This one family was going back and forth to the bar and so were their kids and I know they weren't hungry because they were there before we were and and their table was clear of plates just dessert dishes and drinks the waitress asked them if they wanted anything else and they said no but they didn't leave.
I didn't catch on until the grandmother told the little boy to go up and get a steak and she went up and got a plate full of chicken and I kinda got nosey and glanced over at their table and it was gone in seconds (nobody eats that fast
The waitress came back again and asked if they needed anything they said no again but complained about they weren't getting enough plates from her when they were eating and complained about some of the food I thoughts it I don't want to be a tattle tail but these people and the nerve to complain and didn't even leave the waitress so I told the manager because its people like that who make the prices increase when they steal its all you can eat not all you and your cousines ,aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters ect.. at home can eat

I have personally witnessed some older ladies with big purses wrapping food with napkins and placing them in their purses. They did not appear to be lacking nourishment either and perhaps they were just thinking the food is that good they wanted some for home. I have chuckled seeing them in action stuffing their purses. Then we wonder why prices go up so frequently.

Hi Hardworkinggurl
Yes thats what I think to that prices go up because of stuff like that if you really look at it its a great bargain to get all those choices for one price as opposed to going to a regular restaurant and getting one plate and paying for anything else you want after that except soft drinks and coffee those are usually free refills at most restaurants except for the upscale ones

That's just crazy. Sounds like some people take the all you can eat to the extreme. It's one thing to grab a little something extra but this sounds ridiculous going back for steak. It does make me come up with an image of someone going in with a very large and empty purse and leaving with it full of food.

Yeah Bardgirl
It is crazy its not like people don't notice what they were doing its one thing to go back and one thing to take home(which isn't right either)but to go back and forth and make numerous trips is just ridiculous and its not uncommon either thats probably why a lot of these places have to increase their prices because they can't catch everyone doing it especially in these days and times with the economy the way it is some people will do whatever it takes to make it even if it includes stealing

I don´t usually go to those restaurants because I prefer places where dishes are smaller and quality is high. But what you tell me sounds in part gross and in part funny. I can imagine a handbag with a beef smell and it´s creepy. And it´s a pity that children are taught those manners by their elders. It´s not just the food, it´s the action of bending the rules and laws. As you say, it´s stealing.
I went to one of those restaurants in Brasil once and liked very much a sign they had. Eat all you want, but you will be charged extra for anything you leave in your plate. They also had an eye at the tables and I thought it was a good idea. Some people hoard food and it amounts to throwing it in the garbage can.
