Hi,
I used to eat canned goods before due to my schedules. But I realized I am not getting enough nutrients at all. What about you how often do eat canned goods?

I eat alot of canned foods but mostly it is stuff like carrots, fruits, and veggies.I do realize now that you guys mention it that the stuff is packed with salt I guess I would be better off buying it fresh and chopping it up by hand.
Ah besides my tuna I love that to much :) I guess I can try frozen vegetables instead or maybe i can substitute with vitamin supplements like my sister does since anemia runs in our family mostly among the girls.

I used to eat instant canned goods before but I learned to lessen them. I still do but very minimal. Like 2-3 times a month.

I got into the habit of eating canned foods when we couldn't afford fresh produce and canned last much longer. Then got even more in the habit when my mother was sick from cancer and medically could not eat fresh produce. That was about two years ago.

Hi! I agree with you that eating canned goods don't give us enough nutrients. Thus, it would still harm our body. When I was still a child, when my mom & I would go to the grocery, I would always ask her to but me some canned goods (corned beef & luncheon meat). But as far as I can remember, there a lot of times that she rejected my request. So there were times that she was not around, I would buy a canned good from a nearby store and include it in the meal. When I reached college, I really tried to stop from eating canned goods since I already knew the reason why mom wouldn't allow me to eat those stuffs. Hence, there would be still at times that I would be longing for it.

Very rarely, I simply don't like most of them, so why would I eat them, you know? the only thing I sometimes eat out of a can is tuna...

I try not to eat a lot of canned foods at all. But I have some on hand so that when I just don't feel like cooking something up I can pop one open and add to a meal or make a meal. A local store has some canned black beans on sale. I usually make them myself but I'm thinking if I keep a couple of cans of those around and maybe some tortillas in the freezer, I'll always have something quick and relatively healthy on hand for those nibble times! Plus I always have cheese here!

I only eat canned goods when I don't feel like cooking and some canned goods taste good. I don't usually look at the labels when eating canned goods. Canned goods are good as stocks for foods especially when there are storms coming or you are going out camping or anything that needs food to be preserved for a long time but of course nothing beats home made foods.

I hardly take them. They have too much salt added or too much sugar added for preserving purpose. The only canned food I take is Heinz english recipe baked beans. They are delicious when they are added with celery, carrots and fried eggs.
