Weiht Loss Challenge!!!

I can't get motivated. At all. I've put on around a stone and a half, although I can't be exact, because I'm too scared to weigh myself!
So, I've decided that I'm going to start being very careful with what I eat again, and get rid of this podge that's making me feel so uncomfortable (though my stomach muscles must be rock hard under all this flab, what with my holding my belly in so much!).
So, I'm not going to put my start weight in - even after I pluck up the courage to weigh myself - because I'll be too embarrassed of it, but I'm going to come to this discussion each week, and let you all know how much I've lost over the last week.
I promise, I'll be honest, even if I don't lose weight, or put it on, and if any of you have any motivational tips or advice, or if you want to join me, it will all be very gratefully received!

That's a very good goal to have!!!
I keep telling myself I am going to lose this wretched weight as well, but still have yet to.
What type of diet are you planning to help you lose? Do you have an exercise program in place?
Whatever it is- keep your goal in mind. I've heard of people putting sticky notes on their mirrors or on their fridge to remind them of their weight loss goals.
Keep it up! I'm rooting for you!!!

Hi Mandamagoo! Thanks!
I'm going to do slimfast - just for the first couple of weeks to give me a bit of a boost, then I'm just going to start eating properly after that; no more take aways, five fruit and veg a day (I love fruit and veg, so it makes no sense to be making all these bad choices anyway), because I think if you go on a starvation diet, you just put weight back on when you come off it.
And I'm going to start being strict with getting out on my bike again, that as well has just been laziness. Basically, if I start eating less, and the right kind of things, and move a lot more, it should do the trick! Lol!
I've heard of those things as well, but if you're going to stick a "fat photo" somewhere, they say that you should also put up a flattering photo right next to it. Just looking at the fat photo can actually hinder you, so the comparison might help. I've worked out a little chart which has the next six months in weekly increments on it. I've worked out what weight I'll be on each of those weeks, if I stick to a healthy diet, and lose 2lb per week, and left a space so I can put in my actual weight each week. So if I'm lagging behind, I'll be able to see it straight away on the chart, and it should give me a kick up the bum!
Thanks for the support!

Well, it crossed my mind to come back on and tell a big bunch of fibs, say I'd lost a stone and a half, and had been breaking a sweat on the bike every day.
But that would make me a big (fat!) liar! Lol!
So I'mma tell you the truth: after a lot of planning, printing out diet sheets, weight loss sheets, buying loads of slimfast products, and oiling the bike, I have done practically nothing but eat all the things I shouldn't be eating for the past few weeks!
Seriously, if you tell your brain you're going on a diet, it says "quick, make her stuff her face with everything she's going to starve you of for the next few months. My GGGGOD! We might never eat again! Eat everything. EVERYTHING!"
But I'm back on track now, since last week. I think that's made me a bit braver about coming on and making my admission of failure!
I've started counting carbs. Nope, not Mr Atkins; I'm allowed 150grams of carbohydrates per day. To be honest, it's fabulous! Nothing's banned, although you have to be careful for the first little while, and I've been taking about 3 times as long getting around the supermarket due to label checking. But I can eat whatever I want - with some healthy choices of course - as long as I stay within the carb limit. So I've lost 6lb in the first week. That's probably mainly fluid, but the fat should start coming off now. On track, at last!
There's a lesson here though: don't fall at the first hurdle. And if something isn't working for you, change it.

This sounds quite interesting and appears you will be more enthusiastic about continuing, great idea. Try not to be too hard on yourself as if you do not accomplish a whole lot quickly you may get discouraged. I will be routing for you as well so good luck and I wish you great health.

Hi! Well, I'm hoping that by making it a bit more public, I won't want to embarrass myself by failing, basically, so yeah hopefully it'll help. I am quite tough on myself, but I know as well that you can't be perfect on a diet 100% of the time. The 80/20 rule makes sense - a little bit of what you fancy.
Thanks so much for the support. Bit scared now! Lol!
