Viruses from PPC sites?

Do you guys ever get viruses from all the random PPC sites you have to click? I recently got horrible Trojan viruses, antimalware doctor, and pest detector. Pest detector would not even let me access the internet, and I ultimately had to move all my files and bookmarks to a flash drive, reinstall Windows, move everything back onto the desktop, and reconfigure everything. It was such a headache. I hope people who make these viruses die horrible, painful deaths lol.

I'm using microsoft security essentials now. I do have an old Symantec CD but the live update isn't working, so I uninstalled that.

I respect your deepest pain to these kind of people who are seeking a victims for the sake of hobby. These people are foolish in nature and don't care what they do to others. Encountering these problems will sometimes cause us alert and be cautious with the use of the internet and other software. As soon as we are using the power of internet, then we are more expose to these risks. I think even the most trusted antivirus and other internet protection software cannot stop this reality. Even if you have all these softwares still we are vulnerable to these kind of attacks.
