A few weeks ago news broke out that a pregnant woman traveling from Qatar gave birth in the lavatory of the airplane without anybody knowing it. She left the baby in the trashbin and just simply left without anybody noticing a trace of blood in her dress. Two weeks later the mother of that baby was traced and her story was revealed. She is married with kids and her employer in Qatar raped her and made her to leave when she's in her full term. She couldn't face her husband and her kids with a new baby in tow so she decided to left the baby to die in the trash. Now, my question is would you condemn this woman or feel pity? By the way, the baby's alive and healthy after receiving some treatment and is now in the care of the Department of Welfare.

I can understand that it is traumatic being raped and women can't handle raising the baby. But you can always give the baby away to someone that wants it. There is no excuse just killing it, it is another human being. How someone can leave puppies or kittens in the trashbin I will never understand much less your own baby! That baby was her flesh and blood as well, not just that of the rapist and she should've realised that instead of doing something so awful.

Had the same thought. Like you said, she could just have given the baby away. Such a fragile infant shouldn't just be thrown in a trash. What she has thrown is not just a piece of sanitary napkin that she already used, but a human being with life. :(

I feel that it was very wrong of the employer to rape the lady. The lady didn't choose to get pregnant and she conceived during an attack. Some rape victims choose to have an abortion. This lady carried on with her pregnancy and then gave birth on a plane in the rest room. I would say the lady wasn't thinking straight. I am delighted to hear the baby is alive and being cared for by the department of welfare. The lady maybe went crazy after she suffered being raped. I feel sorry for the lady's mental state. I think she needs help. Leaving a baby to die in the trash is horrible. The baby is an innocent one that needs loving care.

It's sad. this world is a bad world with people that don't care for nothing. this proves my point. doesn't matter what happen or what she went through. 2wrongs don't make it right. the babe was innocent so why punish the babe. to me this is no different from abortion. IT'S JUST WRONG

Yes she's a Filipina, an OFW. She was not in her right mind when she did that. I don't think she deserves pity either. She needs to be understood coz she might have been in a shock when she did that, but i still think she needs to be penalize for having attempted to kill such a fragile infant.

Hi. toniganzon. I would have been honest with my husband about being raped. I would not keep this a secret for so long. I would take my chances upon confiding in him. I know that she was very scared. This is very sad. Her employer started this entire ordeal himself. It was not anyone else that was involved into this matter. I am so glad that his baby is alive and well though.

It is very shameful and heinous crime committed by the employer.I feel pity for that woman. If she was the victim to the cruelty then she should have reported the matter to the authorities or atleast to her husband.I mean, accepting something means acknowleding something and if the rape was done with her consent then that does not amount to rape.
Moreover she did not have the right to kill the baby,Even if the baby was unwanted then she should have given it to orphanage.Trying to kill a baby to save yourself from embarrassment is totally uncalled behavior.

In my opinion there is no excuse for leaving a baby to die in a trash bin. There is too many other options!

I heard about this news also and I was really interested in it. Honestly, I was really curious about it on how she was able to still travel when she's almost due. Didn't anybody recognize her big tummy? And the fact also that she gave birth on an airplane by herself.
Anyways, it was really sad for a person to leave a baby and let it die. The mother I guess was really confused at that time that she wasn't able to get help or do the right thing. But at least, the baby is safe now.

I could never imagine how a mother could do that to her child no matter what happened in the past. It is still her baby and only god have the right to take away someone's life. She could have given the baby a chance at least.

i feels sorry for her because of having a bad experience overseas but killing your own baby is intolerable. even the baby is just a fruit of an unwanted pregnancy, it's still not right to kill him. there are actually better options in her situation that killing the baby and throwing him into the trashbin like a junk. a life is a life. no matter how bitter the experience is, life shouldn't be wasted and disregard.

That very horrible new,you know she better face her husband, the childrens and the consequences.Than abandon the innocent child that gift from that came from her womb. That has nothing to do with her sin that not acceptable, I dont pity her.

I heard this on the news few weeks ago, when i was washing my laundry,
If only the baby can talk, the baby would say, mother why? don't you love me?,
Anyway, i feel more pity to the baby, and it would be better to condemn the mother, because there is a law appropriate for her act, and what is important the mother must realized too, that even though you are raped, the baby is her responsibility already and she must be aware of that responsibility, ones you take a life that would made a mark on your hand that you're once a killer. The employer too has to be condemned of his act. Not only the mother but also him.I bet, the mother claimed the baby later she abandoned the baby, isn't it unfair to the baby?
I'm glad that the baby is healthy now.

I feel pity for her.. know why? it's not really her intention to kill the baby.. because, if that so, why does she let the baby on her womb for nine months? it's just so happen that on that time she delivered, she was really confused and afraid... she don't know how to face her family... and still she was a victim of crashing the humanity of a woman...
spare her feelings... she doesn't want to do it but because of confusion and world's discrimination she did it..

Hi,
Such a sad story and lucky the baby is alive and safe now.
It is definitely a good news and hope the baby will be under a good
care of SOMEONE.
I believe this lady was under stress and she was run out of idea on
how to handle her situation well.
She can always go back to her husband and have a good chat to find the
solution.
Since he was raped by her employer, she can make a police report and get that
bad guy caught into jail.
Hope the lady is able to patch back with her husband .

Okay I am sorry she was raped and well she could have terminated and or informed her husband and the authorities at the time of the incident. She could also have made a humanly decision and put the baby for adoption.
So what gives her the right to get pitied now as why are earth would it be the baby's fault as the baby did not ask to be conceived and or born.
Ugh, this kills me really as see she could have given the baby up for adoption and avoided all the havoc and sin. Surely she can't expect pity after something like this as crime does not justify crime. Oh gosh just when I think I have heard it all something new surprises me as how on earth was she just going to walk away and go on her happy life without a single thought as to what could have happened to this baby.
I am happy the baby is fine, but here is something else to think about when the child gets older how is the baby going to feel that not only was he a product of rape but thrown away like garbage.
I take this a bit personal having never had parents of my own, however I am human enough to know what is right from wrong.

Did the woman really consider herself being raped by her employer?? Because if she was, then she had reported it long ago to the police. But she obviously is protecting her boss!!! Even if I have husband and kids, I'm not afraid or shy to let my husband knows that a b*st*rd employer raped me. Because I would need help! I don't believe this women is been raped, doesn't sounds like she is a victim at all. Probably true that she is a victim of her own desire, if not then this thing would not happen, the baby would not be born or be killed, and the boss would have been caught long ago and is already in jail. Funny thing, after been raped the woman is still working for the boss? Then the boss asked her to go away on the day she was due and she also followed that order? Does not makes sense to me at all. Both this woman and the boss deserve a punishment!

I could not understand how a mother could do such kind of thing to her own child. Even if she do not want the baby and the baby still have the right to live, she still has many other ways to leave the baby instead of killing it.
I have a baby who is just about 18 months, and I realised i would do anything to ensure he would lead a happier life. And any miserable life is worth it.

The woman should have decided immediately when she conceived the child. If she never wanted the child, she could have taken steps early and solved the problem.
She is a human first and mother next, and she should not have acted in this manner. She could have left the child to an orphanage or given to a childless couple. I think the woman was in a hurry and frightened to act in this manner.
Circumstances compel people to behave abnormally and this is exactly what happened.
