how come people use the internet to fool other people?

I think it's easier to scam people out of money, because everyone's looking for a quick way to get money and offering someone something that is too good to be true is an easy way for the scammer to get all the money from somebody without them having to do any work at all.

Hi maebelle: The net is one huge virtual world where people can just do about anything. For the unwary, opportunists strikes like a snake in the bush or devours like a hungry tiger. That's one reason why I always pause and think many times before going online. So far, I have not yet lost a single thing on the net except my credulity. One single rustle and I'm out of that site as fast as my connection can. If I want to buy something, I always go to stores nearby. The only reason I do online shopping is for product information and price range. Other than that, no more. No money, no credit card, no nothing, no problem.

The Internet gives greater anonymity, and it is easy to put on different masks to hide one's true identity. On the other side there are people who trust other people on the Internet the way they do in the physical world. As a result we have a good chemistry. It is easier to cheat a person if both sides are hidden behind the Internet. The cheater does not see the physical reaction of the cheated, so there is less chance of becoming remorseful. They may be close friends without realising it.

well because unlike real life the only thing you would know about the person is his username or nickname.

Sometimes I think they intentionally toy with people online and really do not realize the harm and or damage it can cause a person. I say a 20/20 documentary yesterday, where a young handsome guy was totally in love with this supposed beautiful virgin girl and they spent almost a year corresponding and sending each other picture and sharing family photos. It turns out one of the guy's friend did some research and indeed it as a woman but not the one that was being portrayed so they sneakingly went cross country lines to find that the woman was not 20, but 40, was not skinny but very overweight. Far from being a virgin as she was married with two kids. Beautiful oh gosh no super ugly. Moral here is that she truly played with this guys emotions who was considering moving cross state lines to live with this person who was playing with his feelings the whole time.

internet is a place of scammer's

Because they think internet is the best way to fool and deceive people. My sister and her friend were also scammed through the net. There is this "supposed employer" who are looking for Filipino Nanny. Trusting him about the job offer in the U.K. and convincingly gave all the documents necessary. In the end, they found out that he is a scammer. Too bad, they have released an amount they thought the employer would refund them. There many scammers here, that is why it is hard to trust anyone.

Because these people realised how easy it is to fool people using the Internet. Then they started finding ways or step by step on how to do it without failing. It is also hard to catch these people that is why they are not afraid of doing it. When it comes about spending money on something I wanted, I always avoid from spending the money online accept of ebay. I go to the shop and buy the things I wanted. I don't really want to get scammed at least through Internet, so I try to always be careful. Have a nice day
