Hi there,
The Most probable reason for you not able to view the Hdden folders is a VIRUS!!
However you can try these Steps f they work for you:
1. Go to My Computer
2. Go to Tools ( Alt + T )
3. Go to Folder Options ( O )
4. Go to View Tab ( Ctrl + Tab )
5. In the Files and Folders Secton:
Hidden Files and Folders:
Select Show Hdden fles and folders Rado Button.
Uncheck the Option:
1. Hide extention for known file types.
2. Hide potected operatng system file (Recommended)
6. Go to your Pendrive Folder and check if you can see the files now.
Note: Incase you see a Folder named: System.exe in the Pendrive, it means you pendrive has virus.
So format your Pen drive.
Also, as suggested by users above, you should install a good Antvirus Software and Malware remover on your system.
Avast and Malwarebytes recommended.
If still facing the same issue.
Install Avast Antvirus and Run a Startup Scan.
This should resolve your issue 90%.
If not then backup all your files and format your PC and Pendrive both.

Almost any antivirus is good, all you need to do is updated frequently. Daily update is the best. For me, i am using Avast Free Version. One more thing, please use Mozilla Firefox and added "NoScript" AddOn, it will save you from malicious website from sending malware, spyware, etc. But you'll learn quite easily how to use this magnificent addon.

if that would be the case, your laptop has been infected by a virus. does you laptop has installed anti virus software? well, what i do when my computer has been infected, i try to run the task manager, if the task manager didnt appear, i conclude that my computer has a virus. good thing, i have files that can enable and disable the task manager. i also have one, that can show the hidden files. i know, these are downloadable. :)
