Which one is a better teacher, a parent or a school teacher?

There are things that parents can't teach but teachers can, and there are things that teachers can't teach but parents can. Like for example, parents can teach their kids best by example. if they teach them related to what they learn from school, they would prefer what their teachers teach them. maybe because they trust their teachers to know better than their parents. Depends on every situation, will a child learn more and better from a teacher or a parent?

The two - the home and the school - are two different environments and have different purposes. So we can't really say one is better than the other. Each can be judged separately by the same product - though - the learner. Such that when a child (or an adult) misbehaves, we hear such remark as..."Did you learn anything in school?" or "How were you broght up?"
Happy mylotting, neelia_lyn!

Thanks so much. Such remarks should hit the mark if the parents or the teachers heard it. The learner as you said shows what he/she absorbed during his/her learning days.

it depends. At home, you rely on your parents that your parents are the only teacher. they teach about how to behave etc.
At school, the teacher is the one who teach you about the world. So, they both are good teachers depend of the situation

Both in their places are good teachers. Without a mother a teacher is nothing and without a teacher a mother is nothing. Hence both in their respective places are important. We cannot distinguish one from another.Learning at home is as important as learning at school.. Just as everything cannot be learnt at home in the same way things cannot be learnt at school alone.. A child learns to speak and recognize at home whereas he learns to read and write and apply what he learns in school and home very well at school.I do hope I have replied to your question.

I agree and thank you for your response. Maybe it just depends on the home itself and the school, too.

A parent is a child's first teacher in the world. A parent entrust's their child's future and education to a school teacher. if parents and teachers worked hand in hand, a child will have a bright future ahead. Parents and school teachers are both good teachers. they are just not the same kind.

Thanks for sharing a great response. It's true, parents and teachers should work hand in hand in order for the child to learn well. Sometimes parents just turn all the teaching to the school teachers that's why some kids get behind their lessons. but i guess it's the character and behavior of the child that a parent can teach best.

I think parents are the first teacher of their students. Because when a child born then they teach them to how to walk on foot and also only parents tells their child everything about manners and how to react with their elder persons. And also gave to respect to their elder a child learns from their parents. So I think parents are the best teacher for their child.

Your first and foremost teacher in this universe is your parent, because only after this teacher you are going to see the school teacher.
Yes of course, many things are learned from a parent and a school teacher too.It all varies.
But to really develop in life and gain experience to survive in this world the parent teacher is quite ideal. These are my thoughts as I believe in this.

I do agree. What the child becomes when he/she grows up is connected to his/her environment whether at home and parents or from school and teachers.

Your parents are your real teachers. What you learn at school just builds upon what you have learned at home. For young people to succeed, they need their parents to give them a foundation on which to grow. Teachers can not be expected to raise someone else's children at school, but this often times is the case.

I would hope that parents are the better choice, however not every home is filled with great parents so hopefully the child would have a teacher perhaps to instill some great examples. I think between the two a child can gain.

Hi,
I think both of them are good teachers. In home it would be your parents and in school it would be your teacher. But first comes the parent and then comes the teacher. Both play an important role in a life of a child.A child would normally learn some facts from school while parents teach to behave in an honest and sincere way. They would teach their child good things and bad things. In school teachers help them to learn some science facts and other things. It depends upon the situation whether a parent or teacher

neelia,I think its both, the teacher makes a big part for learning, for the parents they need help to provide the better education for children, and the teacher needs the parent to guide their children to follow up all the activities that they had in school, both have the same way of teaching it depends upon the child if they wanna learn from parents or teacher. Also the children can answer that, who's the best teacher, the mother or your teacher in school.
