It seems that electric blanket is a big deal nowadays. Electric blanket is very effective and it is a 'greener' alternative source of heating during winter. It uses very tiny electricity, so it uses less fosil fuel and thus environmental friendly. I saw several websites that have been built purposedly for selling electric blanket. Can these websites sell electric blanket and 'survive' during summer? For people in US, I have a question - How many months in a year you or people in US use electric blanket?

Is that so.. What is the brand most preferred by your family. People say Sunbeam is good, others say Biddeford would last very long. What is your preference?

I have been using one for 40 years and I leave it on 24/7 for about 10 months of the year. When you have humid days in summer, it keeps the humidity out of the bed. And I only need to buy a new one every 10 years. But I think I am an exception. I don't think people leave it on 24/7 like I do. And many people don't like them at all. Still, there is a big market for them. Even if only 25% of people use them, that is still a huge market. People who sell seasonal products usually make enough money in 6 months to be able to survive the next 6 months. And a website does not cost much these days.

Well, in Texas I only need it about 4 months, and not every night of a few of them, but I suspect those who live in colder climes need it more than I do. For example, I still need my air conditioning during the day in some rooms because they have no outside circulation.

The one thing I love about winter is my electric blanket!!! I just love getting into my snuggly warm bed and feeling so warm and content. I'm not in the US but in the Uk and we start using our blanket from the end of September/beginning of October until around March or April depending on the weather.

but if it is summer in europe its winter in australia so if that website delivers to the whole world the can survive but i dont need a elictic blanket , if you give me a normal blanket i can hold myself hot... maybe old people can use it in winter.
