If I have to choose between my computer and a book, the computer always wins. Hence I don't read much offline, if anything, these days.

I read. However, sometimes I do glance. It depends on the topic itself. If I am interested, I will read. Otherwise, I will slip through the article.

It is sad that many of us over time give up reading.
I only read when I am travelling as I never feel in the mood to sit down witha book when I am at home

My thoughts too. If the first chapetr is really interesting and it grabs me then I will not put the book down until I reach the end. Of course I have to have the willpower to even pick it up and start reading the first chapter

For me, it depends on how much time I have and how interested I am in the book / article. Most of the time I read, but when I'm in a hurry, I just skim through the pages and get the jeez of the idea.
But I do prefer to read. I find it hard to remember anything that I glanced at.
Good day to you =D

I can't find the concentration to read these days. I used to read a lot of books when I was younger though.

When I used to read books I would be absorbed from the first to the last page, especially if they were thrillers. Now I don't read books at all

When I read books, I read very carefully for meaning and appreciation of the author's use of words.
Sometimes when I read newspapers, I only read a couple of paragraphs of an article.
When I read on the internet, and a subject doesn't interest me a lot, I skim through the article......
Have a good day.

I skim through newspapers too, unless it is an extremely interesting article and then I will read it thoroughly from start to finish.

If it is a book then I would read it thoroughly if it caught my interest at the beginning.
If it is a newspaper or a magazie then I would skim through it, just absorbibg the vital information.
Online I read articles (and discussions here) thoroughly if the topic is interesting. I also read the responses and comments on here too. It's a great way to get to know people as their character comes across through their writing

How would you possibly absorb a whole book at a glance?
No, I read. I read every word... out loud in my head. Though I do read fast. I typically finish 2-3 books a week and I've read 103 books so far this year. I couldn't actually get anything from the books if I just glanced at every page or every word. It just doesn't work that way.

Gosh! I envy you the time to get through that many books. I don't have the time or the inspiration these days to read one let alone that many!

Well, I tend to scan the pages...and if the topic grabs me, I actually invest the time in order to read it. Especially so online. Because of the abundance of information, I use scanning in order to ascertain the quality of the information.
Once I am happy with the quality and I feel that there is something for me to learn, then I re-visit it, and actually read it.
Even though there is an abundance of information, what I do find is that there is only a very small quantity of QUALITY information, so I reserve my attention and time for then.
The rest just gets scanned and then quickly dismissed!
