What is a handy kitchen or cooking tip that you swear by and use all the time?
Please reply with your tips - whether they be in the kitchen or to help with cooking.
This is one of my tips:
When preparing plenty of hot dog or hamburger rolls(buns), use a pair of kitchen scissors to cut the roll.. So much easier :)

If I'm going to season a bulk of fish or meat in preparation for a party, I usually mix my salt and pepper together in a small bowl (including other dried herbs if needed), thus I don't need to do it one after another. It makes things easier and faster. =)

To cut down on fat when I fry up hamburger, I rinse the cooked hamburger under hot water after draining. This is something I started doing many years ago and my daughter has been raised with it so it's second nature to her now.

Of course, if you're not careful, all that grease can build up into a nasty clog. Run the hot water after you're done to wash the grease down the drain...adding a little dish soap to the drain (not the hamburger LOL)helps, too, but make sure it's a grease-cutting dish soap!
