Is life an eternity of present moments?

Recently I saw the following quote: "life is an eternity of present moments". The writer went on to say that each moment we create the next. Since we can only live the present moment, I suppose it has to be true but I thought that it was a unique way of putting it. Have any of you read this before? Have you given it any thought and do you agree that it has to be true?

If this is true, does it mean if present moments is an eternity, there would be no more hope for those experiencing sad or not good moments? Or I just misunderstood it.

Hi bing, That isn't the way I think of it because our decisions now will decide the next present moment. Whether we are happy or sad now, was decided by something that happened before. We can all change. Thank you for responding. Blessings.

Present moments can be good or bad. Present moments are the things happening to us everyday, good or bad.

I think it is a nice way of putting it. I believe in living in the NOW. Some might contest that All the nows will become the past but we must remember that everything was lived in the present before they became the past. Life is indeed an eternity of present moments. Life can be both sad and wonderful because of these present moments.

I beg to disagree. Moments can not be eternal. Moments keep changing and eternal things are eternal and they do not change.

Hi pkdaftari, Thank you for your response but if we are not living in the present moment, where are we living? Blessings.
