I Hate That Everything Costs Me Money

I feel like I'm always strapped for cash. I mean, I always need things when I don't have the money for them. I hate the idea that when I graduate college, I'm going to have all these loans to pay off too. And I haven't even transferred to a four year college yet. I hate the idea that my paycheck was smaller than normal and I had to get new car brakes too.
Don't you hate that we need money in order to live? I hate that everything costs money and whenever I need money for something, I don't have it because it goes to something else. When was the last time that you were strapped for cash?

I'm raising 5 kids on a single income.. I'm always strapped for cash! Nothing is affordable to us. One of our cars needs new brakes, the other needs a whole new exhaust system.. and we can't afford either.
The only thing that gets me through it is knowing one day my kids will all be in school so I can work part time and help out. Then as my kids get older they can get their own jobs and buy some things for themselves.. then they'll get their own place and move out, saving us more money. But then I'll have grandkids who I'll want to spend all my money on!!

Oh how I can relate with this one, and it would be nice if everything we do in life did not require money. Sometimes it even continues to seem and feel like the more you make, the more you need to pay out, so you never really get ahead. And to be able to really do anything anymore takes time and planning. Usually have to save and scrimp and then still hope nothing comes up along the way.

me too StephanieAnnc and I am 84 and in a retirement center that takes all but one hundred twenty five dollars from my monthly social security and SSI checks for room and board . hence I mylot to pay my cable internet bill. lol. Just get the phone bill paid, here c omes the med bill
get that paid, here comes the internet cable bill. cannot win.So I too get exasperated at the lack of money for my self. so I am strapped for cash a lot of the time.

The last time I was strapped for cash? Oh, it never ends. So I know what you mean. It's like in a race, where you try to work and earn more, while your loans and bills try to catch up with you. And most of the time it looks like they are winning. Not to mention the curve balls once in a while.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow.. Do I know the college's dilemma I am still paying the 140k due. It is so amazing how prices continue to rise daily. Sometimes I think governments are going to limit the number of breaths we take daily, and charge us a fee for any additional.

I know whatcha mean. The prices keep rising and my paycheck stays the same. I bet if we keep allowing the government to ignore what we want, that could happen.

I can completely relate. At the moment, I'm still a student. My husband has just graduated and is still looking for a full time job. It seems that no matter where we turn we're always strapped for money. It's definitely not something that I like. I wish that we weren't in this situation, but unfortunately for the time being, we're in the situation that we're in. It's definitely not pleasant.

So true. I enjoy finding ways to save or not to have to pay. I am always strapped for cash. I am on SSD and I have what I call different levels of payments I have to make. I am right now paying back a loan for money I had to have for the move I had to make this summer. When I get that paid then I will take up paying off the medical bills I had previously. Ugh! Oh yes, strapped for money.

Yeah, I guess almost everyone has the same idea as you. Everything in our daily life cost us a lot of money, which forces us to work very hard to earn money. And with time goes by, they costs us more and more money. I'm afraid we have no good method to change such situation. The only thing we could do is to restrict our desires.

everyone hates that too, i just wishing there will be one day everything is free where we can just take and enjoy whatever we like for free. i'm going to graduate soon and i'm strapped for cash. i'm going to have my career and together i'm tied with around RM25,000 student loans. but now what really bothering me is my friends wanted to organize a graduation trip. they want me to join them where have no money for that. i don't want to use my parents money, i have already spending too much of their money. it is really hard for me now, i really wanted to join my friends because this might be the only chance for us to have a gathering. i hate everything costs me money, but it is hard for us to earn money.

I hate money too..I mean it buys us luxuries but we also need it to keep alive. I also have a feeling that I'm going to be high in debt when I go to college. Think of it this way once you finally graduate you'll be making more money and be able to pay off your debts. Although you could turn out like one of my teachers, he's 45 and still paying off his student loans.

that's one bitter truth. as a saying goes, "money makes the world go round". it kinda feels like nothing is free nowadays. it's like "what something? give me money". if i had lots of money, it's not a problem. but i don't.
the last time, we had a project and we need money to make it a success. that time is a "poverty time". no money. and now, we have another and i still got nothing.

yes! i think everything we do cost money.. things we like to buy or things that we need in our life.. its just sad for us because we can't really have whatever we like cuz of money.. but there are also things that money can't buy.. love, family, etc. and i think its the most important part in our life.. :)

I know how you feel. I feel that the best things in life really are free. Here is what I mean by this. I am in college as well, and I was sitting in Starbucks on Wednesday, and the Baristas made a mistake, and I got a free Venti Earl Grey Tea Latte out of the deal. On Thursday, it was almost the same thing, someone ordered a Grande Chai Tea Latte and a Grande Carmel Machiato, and the person never picked up the order, and I got a free Grande Chai Tea Latte out of the deal. It was awesome. Money can be a blessing and a curse. It is great when you have it, and it sucks when you don't.

Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about. It is very hard in the beginning and I found the same thing when I was trying to make ends meet and went into a major panic one day when I worked out that I was paying nearly every thing I earned on loans I had taken out.
I started meditating then and have done ever since and back in the early days whilst meditating one day, I suddenly realized all the energy I was wasting with worrying about all the problems I was facing. I decided then that I would do my best and leave it at that.
As the years went by, my debts grew smaller until eventually I could manage very easily, I think through meditation I found the patience to wait and just focus on the here and now and saved myself a lot of tension and grief over things that were in those days, beyond my control. _Derek

Hi,
I've been in the situation like you.
Most of us are straggling for a better living. What's a better living? Well, from my opinion, having a proper amount of money is one included. We get to eat, get to drink, get to sleep everyday. And all these cost us. Adding all of them up, that's a huge amount. Sometimes I feel that I couldn't afford to the expense of myself.
But, I get through it. Though I'm not rich, I earn my life by myself. And I don't hate things that cost me money.

My Dad told me something a long time ago that makes a lot of sense. Everything in this world will increase. With the exception of what you get paid, because that will always change the same for the most part. Inflation is an ugly thing. I remember I day where you could go to the store with about thirty or forty dollars and be covered for a week. No, my childhood wasn't when dinosaurs roamed the earth, but seriously, it is really getting to be a problem.
I am forever looking for corners to cut, deals to find to save money. Here is the problem though. There are certain things that you have to buy and it can be a strain on the finances a lot of the time. Its not what you make, its what you save in the end, but that kind of loses something when what you save is becoming less due to the fact that you have to spend more of what you make.
