I really love cake but I find it too sweet. I tried different bakeshops and store that sell cake but they are all the same... too sweet. I don't like to much sugar but I like cakes. Is there any substitute I can put in my cake to make it delicious but not too sweet?

yeah, that is what I do. I drink tea and it washes away the sweet taste.

i guess honey is one thing that you can put on cake that is not that sweet. i am not baker but my wife watches a lot of cooking and baking shows that always uses honey in substitute with sugar. when i cake is too sweet it is no longer that inviting. you grave to drink more than to eat the cake. i like drinking coffee while eating cake.

I like cakes from Filipino cake stores, like the Red Ribbon and Goldilocks. I think their cake is appetizing and not that sweet.

I agree with you. I love cake but I don't like if it too sweet. Finding some bakeryshop where make it suitable for me.
If you can bake, you'll do it with your recipe :) .It is fun to your cake by yourself but it spend a lot of time I think.
In fact, may be the most of people love sweet cake.

I feel the same as you. I always have to drink a glass of milk with my cakes. I rarely eat the icing on the cake as well. You could try reducing the sugar youput in your cakes until you find a good measurement that you like. A recipe is just the foundation, there's always room for experimenting when it comes to cooking.
