Tea before bedtime

I developed this tea drinking habit before going to bed. It helps me relax and sleep well. But my mom she says that if she drink tea she is having a hard time sleeping. I told her it is not true because tea relax your senses. Do you think I am wrong? Maybe her body reacted differently? And another benefit of tea is that I lose weight and my morning toilet ritual is good. I have no difficulty in removing excess food from my large intestine... I only drink green tea by the way. :)

Some teas do have caffine in them so if you drink it before bed it could have the same effect as coffee does. What i would suggest is something decaffinated like Camomile or even bedtime teas that a lot of stores offer. I tend to get my teas online because I use loose leaf tea.

Most people will be sleepless when they drink the tea before bedtime, especially it is a strong tea. It works similar with coffee. It makes people to have the clear mind. It is good that you don't have this effect and drinking tea will make you relax and sleep well. If you feel comfortable to it, you can just ignore other's opinions. Tea is a kind of healthy drink. I love China

Green tea has caffeine in it, although not a great amount. It may affect your mother, but not you, since everyone reacts to it a little differently. Tea has a relaxing effect on some people, while it's just the opposite for others, so I think you're both right. :)

I think it depends on the tea to be honest. It is well known that some herbal teas especially are great for helping you fall asleep, while others contain a lot of caffeine and might keep some people up all night. I am not sure how it works with green tea though...
