Ever been pocket-picked?

Have you ever been stolen from in public, right in front of you? For example, having things being stolen from you pockets or your purse, or someother bag you were holding? I've never been pickpocketed before. I get kind of paranoid about it when I go to sketchy public places or big concerts. If you have been stolen from like this, did you realize it right away?

Thankfully i have never been a victim of a pickpocket. i try to be very cautious and guarded where i keep my monetary possessions. Awareness is a big part of not being that kind of a victim.

it is a terrible experience to be pocket-picked. actually last month when i was traveling in indian railways there was a huge crowd in there. so i shifted my wallet from my back pocket to front pocket of my jeans but i could not escape my fate. someone picked my pocket even from my front pocket and i only got to know when i disembarked at my destination. the sum was not large in it but some important documents like driving license was in there. it was a really bad experience. pocket pickers should never be spared

I happened to me once. Way back high school when we're using backpacks as school back. I passed by a crowded place & so unaware that when I noticed that one of my bag's pocket is wide open & I lost my week old calculator.

I have been stolen for many times, pretty sad. But I have never been pocket-picked before. But there is once that I nearly was pocket-picked. It happened several years ago, when my friend and I were hanging out at the street, and my another friend is some distance behind us. There was a strange guy following us. We didn't know what happened. A few minutes later, my friend behind shouted at us and caught up with us, then the strange guy left. We were told that the guy tried to steal something from our bags, and was driven away from the shout.

I've never lost anything due to being stolen. I would feel paranoid the same as you if my wallet been stolen, because not only lost the money but also my important documents, credit cards, etc.. But if someone stole my wallet on a crowded public place, then most likely I will not even notice. Because the thieves are already used to it so able to deceive his victims.

I'm sure you're not being paranoid, just realistic to how things work. I've never been pick-pocketed or had anything like a credit card or money stolen from me, luckily enough. But I do take precautions. I rarely walk alone at night (in the city I live in, that would actually be quite a dangerous feat, in some neighborhoods anyway), and when I used to go to concerts I would either not bring a wallet (only the cover charge plus the price of a pop or something), and I thought it was cool - so I always had a wallet-chain connected to my belt loop (OK - yes! I was a bit of an oddball.. lol.) Now I carry my big handbags around, but I always keep it close to me and if there are questionable people around, I make sure it doesn't go anywhere. HAHA.

No, I have been lucky enough never to have it happen to me so far. I hope it will stay that way too!

My first experience of being pick-pocketed with something of value was my cellphone. From what I last remember, I was inside a train when I last used it then I tucked it inside my bag. I didn;t exactly where I lost it because I did not feel anything at all. I just realized I lost something when I was about to send a text message to the person I was gonna meet in a restaurant. I really did not know where, how and when exactly did the pick-pocketing happened. Pick-pockets are really fast and sneaky.

i haven't been pick pocketed before. But I do tend to get a bit cautious in public areas, especially in well-known areas with pick pocketers or potential areas for those kinds. A friend of mine had her bag opened while we were walking, good things she realized it and the opening was just the top zipper with nothing valuable placed on that part.

No, fortunately I have never been pocket picked or had anything stolen from me and I hope that i never do. I can not afford to have anything stolen from me. I make sure that if I am out and about that i keep my pocket book close to me so this doesnt happen.

Unfortunately I have tried to be pickpocketed of my wallet. I don't know what happened. I even remember getting money from it to pay my groceries and when I got home, it was gone. I also remember almost having my wallet taken. The one time, the pickpocketer walked in front of me so I saw that he was holding my wallet! So I yanked him and got it from him! The other time, I felt someone opening my backpack and stopped him before he could get anything!

This actually happened to me twice. The first one was when I was in a very crowded shopping mall. And my wallet was taken out of my mini rucksack, but there was no cash money in it at all, only my Identity Card. So this guy who stole my wallet throw it somewhere next to another shop in the shopping mall and I was called by the owner because I have my company number there. Then the second time was I was in a small shop and keep on getting followed by this woman. I didn't realise when I suddenly though of calling my sister and I saw my bag was already opened and my phone was gone. The woman who kept following me as well was gone. I've always been careful since. It never happened to me again I always advice and tell my family and friends about the experience. Have a nice day
