Why most gay men are funny?

Stand up comedians are almost all men, gay men to be exact. And I really admire their sense of humor. But I wonder why they are funnier compared to others, even if there are lady comedians, gay ones are funnier.
I have gay friends, and most of them are really funny. Why is that? Is there a logic behind it?

i also have friends since gradeschool who were gay. they were so funny that no dull moments with them. well, i guess, that's why they are really it is because its their way of gaining confidence and respect from others. preventing others to criticize them and be little them. they also hide their true feelings because some of them are not accepted in their own family. they show their true identity to their friends or people knows who really they are. i guess, there is not any logic about them. they are just they. :)

simply because is thier talent? they are gifted maybe? or thats their nature.

Maybe, but now that I think about it, I think because they are the exaggerated version of women. Women likes to play around, dance, and do stuff, but gay men tend to double or triple that passion, that is why when they are funny, they are REALLY funny.
