Why do they have to repeat the Mara Clara?

What's the point of remaking the Mara Clara? This was aired for 6 years and I am totally sick of this drama. I watched it first but then it came to the point that I fed up following it. It was like this was aired during my whole elementary years. Are they frustrated that the story line change when Eruel Tongco just died in accident? I just hope that this wouldn't be like before that it is so much drama then prolonging much just because of the lost diary. Gladys Reyes is far better than Julia Montes I mean the appearance Gladys is prettier and has classy look.

It only means that Kapamilya is lacking new ideas and originality in making telenovelas. Well i dont care as long as they aired the good one, also i ddint mind if they want to re-make all old telenovelas in Tvs as long as they will make a hit. Anyway, i am still interested to watch the remake of Mara Clara because I seldom watch it because i was too young to understand the story.

Maybe you were not yet born when Mara Clara was started or you were only a baby by that time. I was about being a fan of this show but then it makes me lazy that sometimes I find it boring.

With the trend in drama nowadays, i don't think they'll prolong the new Mara Clara, it's quite impractical because of how the drama are done nowadays plus the competition of korean dramas.
The redoing of Mara Clara I think is sort of a tribute to Philippine drama like what they did on Flor de Luna.

That is actually good idea if that is the case like making tribute. I just hope they can make it in more sensible way even if that is short.

Hmmm... I think I'll watch this remaked. Not because I missed a lot on the original but I'd like to know how fast is the pace of the story.
We are all "settled" now with teleseryes who doesn't have to end in years time. Now it's by months already. So I think this remake of Mara Clara would not be so bad.

Well I will trust them on that part and for sure they wouldn't prolong it even a year. I just don't like the idea of remaking it because it was like repeating all over again.
The next thing I will expect here is they are going to remake the Annaluna

I also don't like the idea. Was it aired or only 6 years? I thought it lasted for almost a decade. As my mom would often comment, "nakakaumay". It was like watching a reality show. Why was that diary too hard to locate?! Haha!

I think you are right it was aired for decades. I just can't remember how long it was aired. As I remember to one of the parish here it was aired for 9 years just because of the diary that he even compared it to Marimar. And yeah that diary is ridiculous as far as I know it was only found on the cabinet.

Hahaha! I think it's becoming a thread for the two big networks, remaking their old soap operas. Captain barbel, darna, mara clara, etc. they cannot think of new scripts now. Hay! the long lost diary, again lost and found ;D

oh yeah!! i saw judy ann and katherine? was it her name who is playing mara now?
This series was very long! i hope they make it a better version now. this totally made Judy Ann the actress she is now and well i am not all against it... i just hope they create a better, much more exciting and well.. of course shorter version :D

She is Kathryn Bernardo, I just knew it because she was the child version of Anna Abella or Victoria Valera in Magkaribal which is now the role of Gretchen Baretto.
It was like they are the morena version of Mara Clara whereas as you could notice both Juday and Gladys are having this white skin, of course especially Gladys Reyes.
Well I am actually expecting that they would be making a shorter version that makes sense. Hopefully while having this series no one will die.

Mara Clara was obviously a big hit then. Normally, they would do a remake of a series or movie of something because of the same reason. As far as the leads playing on the first part compared to the second, the second leads will always fail in comparison because they always say that the original is always the best.

On that part I would agree at times that the remake is better than the original, for example in May Bukas Pa when I compare it of course the other one was the old school drama and boring. On this Mara Clara let us see and wait for the other viewers on how they will react on it. Maybe this time it was well revise trying their best not to prolong that much.

THEY ARE SO LAME.
I've noticed that they don't really have good ideas to make new and good shows, recently, i've seen them making a new face out of the relic telenovela. i admit i was an avid fun of the mara clara series and movie. but that does.nt mean we will be watching the same thing. make more producers think new ones

I love watching this soap opera on its first few year but then like you im sick of following this on its following years. The story went crazy and its impossible to find the truth. I felt that this soap opera will never end so I stop following this.
I think that remaking soap opera is a new trend right now since most people specially housewives love this. But for me, I will not buy this idea.

That is actually the exact thing that I felt that this story will never end but then now they are remaking it! 
with new performers. I just hope this will be aired during afternoon not on prime time so it wouldn't interrupt my favorite shows such as Imortal and Magkaribal.

I am sure that this will only show in the afternoon and not in prime time, they need to get more followers since the stars are young. Like Erich and Andi, they are experimenting on new faces to make it big, people sometimes get tired of the old faces that didn't make it big. I am tired of watching soap opera's, but my mother preferred that so there is nothing I can do but to just watch it, I hope too that this will be air on afternoon.

I was also a fan of watching the original Marimar. I think their ratings went down when the Marimar was aired which was far better than this too long Mara Clara.
So now is this a show for new born babies? I mean for those who born in the year of 1998 up to 2000? I was 8 years old when this was aired and followed it.

At least I could expect that this won't be even air for 1 year unless it could be like May Bukas Pa that they made a uniqueness and creativity on this story compare to the original. @angelic123 (1108)

What? I can't believe that they will air it again. Are they not done with the harsh soap opera? I really don't like this kind of story. Too much drama, bombing, cruelty... I hope they will make it better than the orig one.

That is what I am hoping for and this would not be boring to watch it. I am so sick of too much drama that the protagonist is always a martyr who does not know to get mad. But for real they are mad deep inside as if they were really understanding enough about others.

I agree they are just wasting time airing. It is just like they are promoting the new faces of the industry not really the story.
