i once had a car and i sold it to lower price. i quit using it since my husband was laid off from his job so i can't afford its maintenance too. During two seasons of my life I lived without a car. In both seasons I sensed not inconvenience but freedom.Well, I have not worked out all the details of living here without a car. So what was left ? the bus ride. Well, let’s give it a try, i told myself. It might even lead to adventure. I like adventure except when i got to arrive late at work.

I am living without a car right now as well.I actually like riding the bike and not having to pay insurance or gas costs. I also don't have to do oil changes or other maintenance. I do have to eat a little more though!lol!

that's exactly great for the body. i also use my bike when i just wanna buy a loaf of bread early in the morning just at the nearby store. There are many, many good reasons for bicycle commuting, recreational bicycling and creating a strong bike culture in general. Hopefully a couple with resonate with everyone and motivate more bicycling.Biking is therapeutic for the mind and spirit -- is fun and can make you happy.Regular bicycling helps with personal weight management -- new full-time bicycle commuters can expect to lose an average 13 pounds their first year of bicycle commuting if they maintain the same eating habits.

Wow! that sounds good.. the 13 pounds. Although I will be a little under weight if that really happens! I figure I am starting to build muscle now though so I may not see it on the scale, only in the way my clothes fit!

Here in California, I can't live without a car. My car is just too convenient to give up and public transportation isn't as frequent in my city compared to other big cities like Los Angeles or San Francisco. I wish though that there was a way that I can get around the city without having to use my car. Gas is too expensive and then there's maintenance, among other things.

In my opinion it's probably having people ask you for rides! Nothing is worse than someone asking you to be their personal driver, even worse if they don't offer to help out on gas. Also, due to the huge number of daily car accidents and being always a pessimistic person I have to admit that there are many disadvantages of owning a car.

i also like living without a car. the convenience of not having a car depends on the efficiency of transportation system in the city where we live. it can be train, bus, taxi, and other modes of transportation. without a car, we don't worry about gas, maintenance, insurance, and parking fees. there are just many things to worry with having a car. however, it makes sense if the transportation in the city is lacking and inefficient. it is a judgment call. i also like being environmentally conscious of not having a car.

those were exactly the things that are bothered me before especially when i am broke during times that my car ask for it. Main thing, it's a big money pit. You have to maintain it, and changing the oil and filling it up with gas is not even the start of the list. in the absence of it also help save mother earth.

i used to be so blatent to have my own car, i would stay at home because i didn't want anyone to drive me anywhere, don't ever be that way, carpool with someone or ride the bus, public transit isn't that bad, just really practice safety

I also don't have a car at the moment, but I live in a big city, so I don't really need one anyway, so it is okay. I take the bus, cabs and walk if I need to get somewhere within the city, and if I leave the city I have a car I can borrow. So I have access to a car on a regular basis, even though I don't own it...
