As the title asks, what is the most terrifying moment of your life so far? For me, I think it would have to be when I was much younger, brushing my teeth in the bathroom while looking in the mirror and imagining that a hand would creep inside through the window to my right. As I was imagining that, a hand actually did come through the window like that, and it happened to be my Dad trying to scare me! It worked very well and I was truly horrified, because to actually imagine something happening behind you when looking at a mirror, and then it actually happening just scares you way too much hehe. It's like if you imagine someone is going to climb through the window in your room while you're sleeping. Everyone has thought about something like that when they were younger, and it never happens. But if it does, you are truly scared to death. So, what are the most terrifying moments of your lives so far? :)

Well there are two moments in my life that quite frankly terrify me when I think about it. The first is when I almost drowned. Yes, I know, this story again, but it is still a bit traumatic and it traumatized me for years. Then again, as a small child, it would do many. Still, it was only about thirty seconds under water, but it seemed like about thirty minutes in my mind. Also, we had a substitute teacher in school that looked utterly terrifying. Like something out of a horror movie. Granted, it was just a cranky old lady, but first graders tend to really let their imaginations run wild and they just go along for the ride all things considered. Therefore, it seems silly that time but it did scare me as a child. Then again, their are a lot of silly things that scare us as children.

Thanks for replying :) Yeah, I understand how almost drowning can be traumatizing, I used to hold my breath a lot under water to try to beat my friends hehe. I usually actually, and at one point held it for over 1 minute and 30 seconds (we timed it). I agree with you also that as children many more things scare us. I remember being really scared of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, and Halloween 20 too. I couldn't get to sleep by myself for a few days :)

As far as I can recall when I was younger as the swimming instructor was teaching how to swim, my feet slip and I was under water for more than 30 seconds but I was so terrified that I never get back to the session after that. It's good that swimming was a much needed subject in college since I cannot graduate without me taking that so I was able to overcome my fear of drowning and the water at that. Another time was when I thought that my daughter was nowhere to be found since my maid did not fetch her on time and no one saw her leave the school I thought she was abducted only to find out that another school mate took her home with her when her nanny did not arrive on time. That was horrifying for me.

Yeah I can imagine that also being pretty scary, both circumstances. Not knowing how to swim and falling in, being under water for around 30 seconds can definately be terrifying :/ And of course not being able to find your child, thinking he/she has been abducted is also extremely terrifying.

It happened when I was around 10. I was walking home with a friend we saw a bad, powerful man and his body guards beating up a man. We hid in the bushes and witnessed the whole thing. We couldn't leave becase we were so scared that they might see us. It was really terrifying.

Well not much scares me in life BUT one terrifying moment I can think of I had once was i thought a girlfriend of mine was pregnant. I was only 16 at the time and had no idea what to expect or what to do if she was. Either way I figured I would be there for the girl if she was pregnant. So for me I guess I was terrified at the thought of taking care of someone else when I was barley able to care of myself at the time. Not to mention what my family and friends would have thought at the time.

I would really hate to be in that situation, I've imagined what I would do in those circumstances many times before, and it's really horrible to have to decide whether to take responsibility or try to study and work hard to do what ever your goals were before that. It's definately very good and honourable of you that you would have taken responsibility if it turned out to be true. If it happened to me, I would do the same thing too, but I would be gutted that I had ruined much of my life :/ That is definately quite a terrifying experience.

Oh, yeah that's happened a few times to me too when I was younger! Not in the airport, but various places. It is really scary at that age too, because as you said, you really do think that you may never find your parents again hehe. I was never worried about being kidknapped or anything, just that I was lost and wouldn't find my parents. In their minds they must have been worried that I would get kidknapped more than just lost, because eventually you will always be found if you are found by someone who works in that area or by the police, and you're parents will find you there :)
