Why people don't like the truth

Often people prefer to not hear the truth. Why? The truth often may hurt them but it gives a clearness of the matter in a conversation. I personally would be happy to hear the truth everything I am asking or talking about something but most of the people don't. What is your opinion?

I don't know if you agree on me, but for me, its hard to face the reality if the reality is revealing the truth, not all the people in this world are perfect, its the fact that many people lied to hide the truth, hide all your negative aspects in their lives makes you react if the negative is revealing to you.
