If HUMANS DIED...what species would rule the PLANET?

There has been a lot of research on this question over the years. The answers, while obviously unproven, provide some eye-openings into the potential evolutionary paths of our fellow creatures that we share our planet with. Probably everybody has heard about cockroaches surviving a nuclear war, but there are plenty of other species that live under ground that could survive as well. Spiders stand a good chance of being a dominant species since they are very stealthy, smart, fast, have a lot of ingenuity and are predators which puts them higher on the food chain compared to other species. Add in the fact that they are literally everywhere, and they make for good candidate to take over the world if our species should all die out.

I actually tend to think that if humans were to disappear from this world, then the things that would rule the world would be bacteria and viruses. The reason that I believe that would be the case would be because of the fact that there would no longer be any medications that would be able to combat them since there would be no scientists and doctors to administer the medications that are known in the world right now.

Hmmm. I don't think there would be an animal that would rule. I mean, I think they would live in perfect peace and symmetry where everyone has their own place. There would be those that will be on top of the food chain, but of course, there would always be another specie who can kill them, or who would have them as their food. It's a cycle, it's vicious when you see how they kill each other for food, but it's natural and it's nature taking it's perfect course.

I don't know, I haven't found any specie which has the potential for the domination of the earth. All of them need evolution. I'm wondering if there were really a kind animal which will have human-level intelligence in a few decades, whether should we extirpate them to maintain our dominant position or not.

It depends how we would die I suppose... If it was some natural disaster then no species would be supreme because there would be nothing left... Unless the remaining bacteria EVOLVES INTO A SUPER BEING!!!! lol... anyway, If it were some sort of disease or virus, Then I'd think that something would eventually evolve perhaps? Who knows... The next supreme people of the earth will be... dolphins... XD OR, the aliens could take our planet now that there would be absolutely no struggle... Actually nvm, I don't think the aliens are evil... BUT YUH NEVER KNOW! I'm rambling now... :(

There u find at least one boy and a Girl will be left even if the complete Man kind is erased or wiped out. This earth is a lot of space for other living beings to rule for or live in it. There would be more empty spaces if we are gone, so it is said that Human Race will not be completely erased, it might start again , with new Kind and with No evil and it will grow like how we are now and it will also face an end when it's Filled with Evil and again a new human race will start .

i am sure that if there were no humans, there would be some magic marvel of science to take over. Some strain or virus would just be waiting for the chance to live. Let's hope that day is far away.

It's commonly said that if the human species completely dissapeared along with other species, the only ones remaining and ruling the world would probably be the cockroaches. These animals are expert survivors, and they can even live more than one week after getting their head cut, because of not being able to eat. The problem is that if only cockroaches were left is what would they eat. As they're natural survivors I imagine they would end up resorting to cannibalism, but it's just a theory.

Maybe aliens? or someone from another galaxy? Humans cannot be easily diminished as we are the worst predator ever. If we will vanish from the face of the earth a great specie could have done that. I do not think there will be a creature of that from this earth can take over this planet aside from us, humans.

It's very interesting to think about what species would rule the planet. I doubt that another species would exceed human intelligence as of the moment. Maybe the carnivores would thrive if their intelligence developed still.

Until now we will be the leading members of the race. Moneys were second in command. I think they would take over from us and rule the world.

It would be a New Found LIfe!! Life as we know it continues with or without us so new creations and or species would find a way to survive.

It will happen sooner or later, ants will rule the world, they have a strict system where everyone does his work and if needed they can hide underground, so they can survive many things that would happen on the surface of Earth because they would hide under it.

I don't think there is any species that would take over like humans have. We take other species as pets, have such sophisticated weapons, put other animals in cages. There is no other species that could rule the world that well as humans have so far. Not to mention that we can survive in such versatile conditions, only perhaps some insects are that good at surviving in all conditions. All other species depend on being in a certain climate. So there'd be no ruling species. All species would live like they do in the wild right now, uninterrupted.
