This is a series of novels by the Swedish author, Stieg Larsson is about a young woman named Lisbeth Salander. In the first book, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Lisbeth is described as a "troubled young woman" who helps solve a forty-year0old mystery. In the next books, The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest, we learn that there is so much more that meets the eyes when it comes to Lisbeth Salander. The books are now also in Swedish movies, and Hollywood is also producing an English version.
When I first read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, I was instantly hooked. Stieg Larsson is a genius. The books are genius! I had no idea that the whole story would be taken that far, and how it was done was just amazing!
Has anyone else read the series? What do you think?

I admire your restraint. When I read the first one, I couldn't stop until I completed all of them! The movies are great, too. One of them few movies-from-a-book that I am very contented with.

A Friend Loaned Me the 2 books I have read so far..but It was books 1 and 3 that I got! Book 1 was very readable, and set up part of some of the situations that would continue in the rest of the books..and part 3 ties up the story very well...now,I've just to find out what I missed in between..

I have not read the books, but a lot of my friends have, and they all love them! I have seen the Swedish movies (the first 2) though, and they were really good! But people tell me that the books are even better!
I think the Hollywood movie won't be as good though, so I recommend people to watch the Swedish ones instead...

The movies are great (like I keep saying lol), but you'll learn a lot more in the books. I have the same feeling about the Hollywood version, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I have not read the entire series, but did listen to the audio book of the first one. I really enjoyed it. I saw part of the swedish film version of it, and enjoyed that as well. I am hoping to get to read the rest in short order here. I heard that Daniel Craig is going to be in the English version of the films.

You'll enjoy the rest of the books more. Yep, Daniel Craig will play the male lead in the Hollywood version of the movies.
