During childhood, we always here this cliche that " Money is the Root of all evil?"... Do you believe in this.. Crimes like robbery, fraud, theft, hi-jacking and kidnapping are all based on Money, maybe evil things are tied up with money.. its the same money that may save lives. For me, the Love for money is Evil but if we are resolved to accumulate more money than we need to help more people, I think that is a different story. What do you think about this? Do you believe that money is the root of all evil?

This is a very popular and persistent misquotation. The REAL quotation is "The love of money is the root of all evil" (1 Timothy 6:10, KJV) and is probably more accurately translated (from the Greek) as "The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil".
Money, in itself, is not evil nor is it evil to 'love' it (in the sense of taking care of what one has or of appreciating its value in providing what we and others need). For many people it is their cash flow account which indicates the success or otherwise of their business; for others the acquisition of money becomes rather like a game in which one earns points to win. The first is a legitimate use of 'money' as an indicator (it is not actually 'money' as such); the second is really an extension of greed, though, in most cases a fairly harmless one.
It is when people's 'love of money' actually turns into greed and an all-consuming selfish end in itself, so that other people are harmed (and perhaps more importantly, the person becomes forgetful or less aware of God in their lives) that it can be said to be 'the root of many evils'.
It is still not the money or even the love of it which is evil. It is the MISUSE and MISAPPROPRIATION of money itself and of an inordinate desire for it which causes the evil.

I don't think that appreciating the value of money or being thrify is "love of money" but I do believe that misuse and misappropriation of money comes from loving money. I'm not particularly religious but I do agree that "the love of money is the root of all evil" is pretty accurate. The gap between the rich and poor is becoming greater lately. There has to be a better balance because if the rich has too much of the money then those that have less money don't have enough to buy the things that the rich make to sell. When that happens, the rich themselves are hurt because their business suffers. That's why I am for programs that help the poor and against ones that help the rich like tax cuts for the rich. We need more programs that will help get money into the hands of us poor people so we can buy rich peoples stuff.

Hi Incus
Yes I have heard that cliche but I don't buy it money isn't evil its the people who have evil in their heart to do something to someone else in order to take something that doesn't belong to them be it robbing, killing for it selling their bodies for it,or even swindling people out of their hard earned money whatever they do its not the money its what lies in the heart of the person

People are evil. Not money.
Money is just a way for us to exchange items with one another in a normalized way. There is simply nothing wrong with either money or accumulating it. The evil part is people want money so badly they actually do something bad. It is the people who are the root of evil.

All things that have made in this world are for the purpose of good deeds. But if you will use it excessively it would become bad. For example, a knife: knife is good for cutlery of meats or vegetables, but if you will use it to cut the neck of somebody, that's bad. Now, why money was called the root of all evil? Because some people put their love to money, they became greedy, they never share it to anyone who is in need. They want all money is only for themselve, want to be rich.

I don't literally agree that money is the root of all evil. I think it would be much more to say that root of most of evil is man's desire for status, greed and jealousy. Because of too much love and greed man will be tempted to do evil.
