If the light I shine on things is hot, is it my fault that moths will fly into it? If my words are often to the point, is it my fault that people are clumsy and are scratched by them?
It is respect for the person as such, so that they may learn to stand tall, rather than just for their feelings, in case they may be hurt, which counts.
