MTV is an American network based in New York City that launched on August 1, 1981 that i know. The original purpose of the channel was to play music videos guided by on-air hosts known as VJs. Slogans such as "I want my MTV" and "MTV is here" became embedded in public thought the concept of the VJ was popularized.
Wow, MTV share us all of music. And its i love.

I am really an 'mtv baby'. I witnessed it's launching in the 80s and the very first music video that they played was "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Bugles. Such a fitting intro, isn't it? I was mesmerized by the barrage of music videos. Imagine, your radio heroes now coming to life. It was such a magical moment. I remember the cool swagger of MTV VJ Danny Mgill. MTV was indeed king in dishing out the latest American top 40 music as well as the mystique of British new wave. In my books, MTV still rules!

Well, I used to love MTV but that was back in the days when they were all about music. Nowadays, there's hardly any music programs on. It's mostly all these reality type shows that I'm not particularly fond of. I remember staying up really late to watch Yo! in the 90s. And I was also a fan of TRL in its early days. But I basically dropped the channel years ago when it started shifting away from the music. I'll still watch it once in a while but I'm not a huge fan like I used to be.

Yes I know MTV. I loved it especially in the 80s -- it was so fresh, I was memerized seeing one music video after the other, and after the other..totally non-stop. I even witnessed its premiere. Though I don't remember much about it, except for the very first music video they aired which was "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Bugles. MTV was the epitome of cool! I don't get to watch it at all now because MTV closed shop here in the Philippines. But still for me, MTV rules!

I love MTV but I don't understand why our cable operator stopped it's reception. So now I just watch a local music channel patterned with MTV which is MYX. But I like MTV better because they play better music videos that are of my interest. And the VJs are cooler.

I hadn't heard of this other channel. MTV is the best and they do have great vj's.

Yes I am very familiar.
What happened to MTV? It used to have good quality shows and music videos. Now it's pretty weak programs and quantity shows. I miss watching videos.

I do, I used to love it when I was younger. Now I don't really watch it so much though... But MTV Europe at least really used to have better shows in the 90s compared to now, so that is a big reason for me.

I do love MTV a lot. But a lot of the shows on it now have nothing to do with music. When it first came out and for a while after that it was a great channel for music. But now it has a bunch of shows on it that have nothing to do with music and are just there to boost the channel's popularity. I do like some of the shows but I would appreciate if it had more music on it like it used to.
