I am a huge fan of Excel and use it for all sorts of things, including inventories, making a budget and keeping track of my spending, as well as work related things. But I know a lot of people really hate Excel as well. I have never understood why, though. So tell me, do you like Excel or not? And do you use it on a regular basis?

I use excel very often. I like this program, because is very useful to make tables, simple maths operators is very useful here. Graphs are also useful and easy for users. I mainly use basic excel functions, for my tables. I have lots of tables where I need sum at the end and that is where excel is very handy for me. I will improve my excel knowledge in the future for sure.

People who hate spreadsheets are mostly those who have HAD to learn how to use them or who are scared that they might have to and are afraid that it might be too complicated or that they might be embarrassed by not being 'mathematically minded'.
For a long time it was my job to teach people the basics of office software and spreadsheets were the thing that most often made people throw up their hands in horror ... until they understood the principle of putting information into pigeon-holes and doing stuff with it. Once they got the hang of that, very little could stop them and I found people trying to use spreadsheets for almost anything ... including word processing, for heaven's sakes!
I use Excel on a very regular basis. I use it for my household budgets and accounts, for recording and reporting my earnings from various sites and even for just fairly quick calculations (for which I might just as well use a calculator or paper and pencil!). I use it less often for mail merging (but I know how to). Perhaps my most inventive use of it so far was to use the graphing facilities to produce a map of the distribution of plants in a field (for a geography project). I have long since lost that sheet and forgotten how I did it! I remember it caused some hair tearing but I was helluva proud of the finished result!

Wow, I can imagine that it must have been quite a challenge to teach people that, I have heard some people who are so against Excel, and then it turns out they never even tried using it!
I love the graphs you can make in Excel too, but I can't say I use them on a regular basis or anything...

Yes,indeed, I like Excel very much. I use it every day at my work place and also at home for personal needs. That is the program I use all the time in making financial evaluations of the business programs of my company. I could not do it without Excel.

I think that if someone likes programming the Windows Excel is the first thing to learn , but it's the first thing to abandon aswell as the ASP and recently the ASP.NET languages does the same and in bether way ... You can create your APP and use it by running it in your LocalHost , but as i mentioned its only for apassioned programmer's .

Yes, it is. I know what you mean, though, Excel really does take some getting used to, if you are not used to it, it looks really strange I guess. So I do see what you mean.

I don't use Excel personally, but my husband does. He is a truck driver and the company's payroll is put on excel. He fills in the date, mileage, truck #, trailer # etc....and it totals up the mileage, hours etc. Excel is very handy for this type of thing.

I also use Excel for my anime collection inventory. It's a really useful program and I love it XD

Excel is a spreadsheet software. It was said to be the killer of Lotus. Lotus 123 was once a popular spreadsheet. What MS did is they buy the right for Lotus 123 and released a newer version name Lotus Data suite, wherein its primary purpose is to educated those people who are mostly using the the old Lotus 123. Well I also like Excel, but if ever there is a more user friendly spreadsheet out there, then I'll be more fanatic to that one.

I have never heard of Lotus 123. I do remember something called Lotus Notes, though, I wonder if there is a connection? Anyway, of course Excel can always be improved, but for now I think it is one of the best programs out there for this!

excel is like learning a different language. excel to me is very confusing, but only because i have never been taught how to do the formulas and such. I only use very rarely in my job. but often enough to learn it and master it.
so no, i dont like it, but if someone took the time to teach me i probably would like it.

Yes, I have heard this before as well, it seems it is really hard to learn Excel on your own, a lot of people have told me this. So you are not the only one who feels that way for sure!

I too am a huge fan of excel. I use it almost regularly at office for various data compilation and data sorting and the autosum feature is an angel…would be totally lost on the calculator without it. though I’m not very adept at working out formulas and copy-pasting formulas (never been very good at maths), so that part I miss out working on. But just cant think without excel in my daily work.

I also love Excel. I use it to keep track of my finances and it really helped me with my school work when I was still in college. It helped me make charts and tally numerical data. It really made my work so much easier. Though some of my friends do not like using Excel because they think it is complicated. Yes, it is complicated at first but when you get the hang of it, you would definitely appreciate the help it would give you. That is why I love Excel.

I'm very happy with the program Excel. To me, this program helps me in work associated with tables and calculations. Unfortunately, until now, I don't know how to print a worksheet in Excel program.

I love working with Excel too. It is a very powerful tool to work with. I work with excel every single day. It's a part of my daily life. There are tons of formulas that u can work with excel and ofcourse not everything is learned by me.
There must be reasons that why people hate Excel and one of the reason is that they never had to work with it just yet but once they get it started and understands it's function and advantages of Excel, I guarantee they're gonna love it too.
I know a few of the formulas but there are lots more to learn and I would highly appreciate if u or anyone in Mylot share them with me.
