In this fast-changing technological world, sometimes you are faced with some difficult choices. For instance, your current computer has matured to the ripe old age of six months and has been deemed obsolete. Now it's time to purchase a new computer and the question s, "Should I buy a laptop or a desktop?" But just because laptops are the new craze, it does not mean that you should run right out and get one. But, laptops give us to easy our works at any place, so i choice laptop.

I don't know that a laptop is better than a desktop. a laptop is much more convenient, and takes up a lot less space.

I bought a laptop 3 years ago because it's portable. Last time when we had to carry my daughter's PC to get fixed, it was a big drama. I got a Toshiba laptop and I don't mind the MS Vista :)) But the size of the screen may be a problem. My daughter make drawings and she needs a bigger screen.

I don't really know much about computers. But I think I would go with the desktop. Laptop for me is too sensitive. I feel like with the desktop, I can abuse it. :) In terms of opening multiple applications, downloading stuff from the internet. It's easier to fix as opposed to laptop. I do have a laptop and I use it just mainly when I need it outside of home. But for photo editing, downloading, etc.. I would much prefer to use a desktop.

Definitely laptop with great specs can outshine any desktop. Like what everybody has already mentioned, it's portable plus you can save energy (electricity.) Can even charge on a solar gen set.
However no matter how fashionable and popular netbooks are, i would never recommend them!

I prefer laptops mainly because of their portability. Also laptops consume less electricity than desktops.

Lap top is better as it is easy to carry from one place to another. Moreover, there is no need for more space at home to keep the lap.

I also think laptop is better. It is smaller and portable. I can bring it with me and I can use it anywhere. And it won't cost a lot of electricity like the desktop. If I will buy a computer again, it will be a laptop again.
I love China

Hi jainer:
Notebooks are better than desktops when it comes to portability. Their inherent drawbacks are the ability to get damaged easily, low endurance and few replacement parts.
Laptops nowadays could compete with most desktops in performance in terms of RAM, HDD storage, graphics, CPU speed and sound. I'd say with proper handling and maintenance, laptops is the way to go.
One reason why I still prefer my old desktop is that its so easy to assemble, upgrade and repair with cheap and available parts. Once a notebook goes down, it stays down. With desktops, one part goes, it can be readily replaced with another, and so on.

Hi jainer,
It is better than you people should buy a laptop instead of desktop because there are more convenience with laptop compared to desktop such as portable, moving easy, using wireless all the time. I think that in the future desktop will be ended their era to open the new one with laptop using. Besides, price of laptop is not presently too expensive for everyone owns one with some famous brand-news Acer, HP, Dell, so on.

I bought a laptop for multiple reasons. First of all it is portable so you can take it on trips and such. Second of all it can give you just about everything a desktop can for a cheaper price. And third of all you aren't limited to a computer desk or wherever your desktop if when you use your laptop. There are probably a couple other small reasons I can't think of now but I am really glad I bought a laptop.

I have no choice my laptop transformed to a desktop!! And it is well past that ripe old age of six months .....
Laptops are good in my opinion for all those reasons still I'm considering desktop options for they give better configuration for less price. Besides my eyes cry less while working on a DT....

I think both are better. And I mostly like desktop computer because I have desktop. But I think laptop is also good for carrying anywhere. I think you can easily carrying laptop from one place to another. And also you can use it in travelling.
